He can put the ball on the floor and drive to the basket; furthermore, he has a nice array of shots in his repertoire that he can use. If he simply can stop shooting the three ball so much, and be more active without the ball, he will be special.Defensively, we already know he is horrible, but he has shown some improvements thus far.
THJ is not a good NBA player. Lets move on ...Don't give up on a young talent that quickly dude. Give him at least 3 years
Why does Tim Hardaway get three years to suck, but after 40 games you can say with certainy that fisher will never be a good nba head coach?Fisher may turn out to be a decent coach, and I am willing to give him at least one more season to prove he is worthy. I never asked for the dude to be fired right away. I am simply appalled by his performance as a coach thus far. Specifically, his approach to defense and his lineup changes
Ok cool.. Fair enough.

Fishmike, I am fair and impartial. Unlike most around here, I don't just criticize and propose to fire or trade
Knicks1969 wrote:After last night game THJ said the following "I don't actually feel that I played a complete game; I have to get better on defense; rebound better, and play within the system." He further stated "I have to watch films to see what I did wrong, and use them as lesson learns." That says a lot about this young dude; in my opinion. If he can study his game and correct his mistakes, he will be a much better player.
I hope he somehow breaks through but if not
We can't be sentimental with him
I will give him credit for expanding his game
He's doing more overall for what fans criticized him earlier about

I agree.....I want to see him take less 3s and work more inside of the arc.

THJ has all those going for him. I remember when a young KD came into the league there was not a shot he thought he couldn't hit but damn if stardom wasn't knocking on his door and he was force fed to be confident and take those shots no matter what 43% fg 28% 3pt fg. You want THJ to become a very good player, then give him the green light, to make himself into a better shooter, better over all player. That's how you become good in the NBA.very credible post
What is wrong with what I said. Why isn't it credible? Typical hate on Knicks players look at Thompson before this season. Why wouldn't anyone say that THJ's trajectory is that far off from Thompson's. Sure he may not have a once in a life time out burst but than it was record setting wasn't it not even the past greats have had that.
I'll stand by my statement that THJ is every bit as good as Klay Thompson.

Have any thoughts as to why our team D has been improving?
Has Fisher come up with an answer?
Does it have something to do with certain players being given more time on the floor?
Just wondering.

I've noticed that they have picked up the intensity on Defense. They have also double teamed guys in the corner or played in a way which would force them there which has for the most part worked out well for them.

If he ever figures it out he can be a really good player and he's ours. What is there? He doesn't score, rebound, pass, shoot, or defend well. The only think he has going for him is a rookie contract and youth.
I disagree, the dude does score the ball. He is just not conscious of the quality of the shots he has taken. Example, if he were conscious of the stat sheet, he would know not to pull the trigger from behind the three line when he has already missed 5 out of 5 shots.
I see him rebounding better and passing the ball better as well. You just have to surround him with smart players to rub off of him. Being around JR,Amare, and even Carmelo is not favorable for a guy who already has the mentality to be JUST a scorer.
The success of Langston and perhaps the other young kid may incite THJ to become an all around player.
I know that there is talk that years ago THJ and his dad had some struggles about how he plays the game.
I always expect the son of a former player to have a deeper understanding of the things that make a player "well rounded," and that he should play that way to some extent. In the instance of THJ, this seems not to be the case at this point in time.

If you can go back and look at his college footage, this guy is a bit of a selfish player, he rarely looks to get his team mates involved. If he's off (which happens every other game) he continues to shot like he's red hot, going 2 for 14.
His ceiling is much lower then some think, so far he looks the same as he did in college,I mean The exact same

I disagree. Since his altercation with Carmelo, he has made an effort to pass and rebound the ball. I don't know who got through to him, but he has been averaging 3 assists, 4 rebounds, and 14 points per game. He needs guys like Carmelo to set up good example for him to follow, and a coach that can get on his face when he steps out of line. Clyde Frazier must have had a talk with Phil or Fisher regarding how to approach THJ, because I can see a huge difference on how fisher is dealing with him now.

Yeah, but that's not consistent enough for me. He needs a coach like thibs, or pop, and a team full of vets, he's development will be at a snails pace on a team like the knicks have, especially with no leadership
Same for Early
Regardless, this is the best draft and I would like to grab as many talents as we can in this draft, and if these players can get us both young players and 2nd rounders, I am all for it
Tony Wroten *depending if we can buy low or not*
KJ McDaniels *he is a UFA, so while I do not mind trading for him, we could just sign up as a FA, unless they give him an offer that he couldn't refuse, I do not see him staying in Philly with the likely possiblity of being shipped out in the future*
For instance trading our future 1st rounder (protected, 2020 or 2022) for multiple 2nd round picks, most of which are for this year and the next 2 years
Wroten right now, I would subtract one 2nd round pick to pick him up as an injured player

THJ was not drafted by Phil, so I can understand his sentiment about this proposal. Phil may not think he fits what he fits the triangle

No doubt his mindset have to change when he see D-league fillers and 10-day end-of-bench players put a much better performance in all aspects of the game that he.
One thing you suck comparing to Carmelo... another thing you suck comparing to Galloway or Thomas...
It will be good test for him moving forward.
