Knicks · IT IS TIME TO CUT AMARE (page 1)

Knicks1969 @ 1/25/2015 3:10 PM
I don't know why this organization is so reluctant to pull the trigger on guys who are not good fit for the team or the triangle, but that has to change. Phil is holding hope that a team will come around and offer a good asset for the expiring contracts. However, the entire league is aware of how bad these players are. Amare and Bargnani are occupying spots that could be used to allow a couple of D-leaguers to showcase their talents; as such, must be cut to allow such transition. Amare pretends to be injured last night, because he did not feel good enough to play. Bargnani on the other hand, only plays perhaps three games so far. It is really not a good example to set for our young players.

Amare has played well this season, but let's only post after he has a bad game!

Bargs you might be able to swap for another expiring bum, Amare will be bought out at the deadline, when most teams buy out vets.

StarksEwing1 @ 1/25/2015 4:19 PM
I want bargs gone more. I know the knicks have been dumb the past 15 years but i still cant believe we trade multiple picks for a guy that has been a disappointment and injury prone most of his career
Anji @ 1/25/2015 4:20 PM
I don't think either serve a purpose in playing for the Knicks, I think they both should be cut. Hopefully the old guards can traded.

What is our record again? How do you justify that he has played well? He is one of the main reasons why the triangle looked so bad early on. Once he catches the ball, he burns ateast six seconds just to try to muscle a shot. He is terrible

STATMELO @ 1/25/2015 4:54 PM
Why not cut Bargnani? Amar'e has played well, very efficient offensively and having one of the highest rebounding rates of his career. He's more tradeable than that bum Bargnani.

You make the same mistake again; Amare has not been efficient offensively. He would be efficient if only if he helped make others better. He is a black hole on offense. He plays simply to bolster his stat sheet; he doent play winning basketball.

VCoug @ 1/25/2015 5:52 PM
The time to cut Amare is right after the trade deadline on 2/19. And at the same time we should cut Bargnani. You never know when a couple of teams try to put together a big trade and need a large expiring contract to make it happen. Or when a team needs to dump someone and is willing to pay a premium price to make it happen.

Ok, I will patiently await his departure. I get mad when I hear fans around here asking for the Knicks to resign this dude

EnySpree @ 1/25/2015 6:43 PM
Amare makes the same as kobe which makes him the highest paid player in the league. There is no trade to be made unless a team like Sacramento gives up on life and salary dumps everyone. Not happening.

I feel like we don't owe Amare anything. Phil might be trying to resign him cheaply for next year. Amare still thinks he's Issac Hayes aka black Moses so it will be hard to believe he will take a 5 mil a year or less gig, which is what he's worth.

I would love to get rid of him too. He's a side show with his Hebrew bullshit, wine baths and other foolery he does outside of basketball.

I think Phil is trying to make a move so we just have to wait and see what happens. Hopefully after the deadline we clean house

Even if this dude wanted to play for free, I wouldn't keep him around. He hurts the flow of the game. His style of play is detrimental to TEAM basketball. Always a turnover waiting to happen.
Hector @ 1/26/2015 1:27 PM
How about we just sign Amare to a 3 year contract at 3m per.

Oh wait....

To be honest, hell yeah. I hate Amare's approach to the game. Cole can at least defend and rebound. Furthermore, you can run an offense through Cole, because he will look to pass the ball.

Dude if there was a choice between Coles and Amare 31 out of 31 teams would go with Amare, are really serious, run a offense through coles, you should be embarrass and suspended for a wk from UK..lol

As others have said, Amare is probably bought out after the trade deadline so that he can pursue signing with a contender.

For that 1 season that he produced for us, I wish him well, but please, leave.

.5 of a season.

Knicks1969 @ 1/26/2015 7:12 PM
I want him out in a NY minute. Dude was giving a contract he did not deserve. Furthermore, he only played less than one year. He did not help us to win a championship, so Dolan should not pledge any allegiance to that dude.

Dolan is truly a fool. He Ewing and some of the other greats, but has mad respect for fools like Amare and Houston.

Exactly who has help us win a championship in 40+ yrs, were no closer than we've be since 99. Amare is not a concern to anybody at this point, if they re-sogn him on the cheap, then we could have a conversation about it.

If he does nothing for us, that should make you draft happy ppl happy as a pig in sht. In a season going no where fast, the less productive should be the better right, thats what you want, more ping pongs.. (not me) but you.
