How?
Brandon Jennings just went down with a torn acl. Maybe they would like to take back Calderón? He actually played great while he was there.....
anyway any other bright ideas?
Calderon is tough to trade because of his contract. We had to give up shumpert just to dump jr
Hearing the Pistons are interested in Prigioni. Much better value as a stopgap

I think it depends on how DJ Augustine plays these next few games- if he looks like he can handle it, they may go after Prigs, if he looks like he can't, maybe they consider Calderon. They have to keep winning to increase the chances Monroe will re-sign. Jennings won't be back for a year, and likely will never be the player he was (which was never that good to begin with. Take away his athleticism and he's really going to struggle in this league.)
I doubt anyone takes him unless we add a good asset. Calderon has a worse contract than jr smith and we had to get rid of shumpert just to dump jr. I like phil but taking calderon was a bad move

it may be a blessing for him. Take away his athleticism and maybe he will have to play with brains.
Kemba Walker just went down for a minimum of 6 weeks due to a torn meniscus. I'd expect Charlotte to show some interest in Calderon given their need for shooters and a steady hand in the interim. And best of all is that they can hide Calderon defensively among a slew of accomplished defenders. The money would be hard to swallow but MJ has made other dumb financial decisions in the past (extending Tyrus Thomas) and doesn't seem poised to stop (paying Marvin Williams big money). What's one more slip, to help out a friend in Phil Jackson? Lol.
Gary Neal, Jeffrey Taylor and Jannero Pargo for Calderon works. Aside from Neal, none of those guys are rotation players, which make them expendable. Meanwhile the Knicks would get $5.5 million of expirers.

Wow. Thought I read Walker had a cyst. The meniscus injury is interesting. Some guys come back really quick and others seem to take months.

Injuries like those are why I've never been a particular fan of small guards like Kemba. One nick like that and it can change the entire trajectory of their career. Hopefully this isn't the case for Kemba.

It seems like guys that rush back i.e. Metta, Brewer struggle down the road. Taking 6 weeks is probably the smart thing to do.
Jordan will probably just ask for Jack to go along with Johnson.
The money doesn't match. Joe makes the same as kobe and amare

Usually if they come back quickly it means they have had the torn part cut off. If they take longer to come back it means they had the tear stitched up - it has a much better recovery rate but takes longer to recover from.

I was thinking the same when I heard the news. Looking at their roster though I think this would be a hard trade contract wise. Gary Neal and Brian Roberts for Calderon works but would they go for that?

Houston Rockets: The Rockets have already made two midseason moves, but they have still been working the phones. League sources say they have been dangling Jason Terry’s $5,850,313 expiring contract in trade talks, and it seems they’re open to packaging it with picks or prospects in order to complete a deal. Expiring contracts aren’t as valuable in today’s NBA, but certain teams do have interest in ending or non-guaranteed deals. Take the New York Knicks, for example, as they recently gave away Iman Shumpert and J.R. Smith in a cap-clearing move. If Houston can’t pull off a larger trade that lands them a big-name player like Goran Dragic (who they’re pursuing), adding a player like Jose Calderon from New York for Terry’s expiring deal could be a back-up plan for Rockets GM Daryl Morey. It’s important to note that this Terry-for-Calderon scenario hasn’t come from a source and is just speculation (unlike other rumors mentioned throughout this piece), but the swap could make sense for both teams. New York wants to move Calderon’s contract since he is owed over $7 million in each of the next two years and they want to have as much cap space as possible entering the summer. The deal could help Houston too, as the 33-year-old is an experienced, pass-first point guard who can knock down open shots (and, most importantly, is someone they could obtain without having to give up much at all). The only issue would be that it would limit Houston’s cap flexibility going forward, which may throw a wrench in the deal. Still, Morey is known for making moves at the trade deadline – he’s active just about every season – and don’t expect this year to be an exception.
I doubt Morey would take on Jose even if they miss out on Calderon but could Terry fit in JR's TPE? Getting some picks to maybe trade Calderon in the offseason or maybe even swing a 3-way trade would be nice

SVG said the Pistons won't trade any future assets (including first and second round picks) to replace Jennings, so I guess no Priggs trade, and unlikely Calderon

I want our 2015 2nd rounder back!
Knicks need to trade calderon and THJ for any pick in 2016. The way things are they can not afford to not have a pick in an entire draft

The 2015-16 season will be bleak if we strike out in free agency, we need a 2016 pick in order to survive the year!

There is no hope, he would probably get a late 1st rounder for melo, to put it simple, phil is an ass until further notice
