It is shocking to know this big young dude was drafted by the Knicks. As bad as we have been in the front court as well as point guard, I am baffled to know that we couldn't find a way to keep this kid around and develop him to anchor the frontline.
I am currently watching the Piston Vs. Cleveland game, all three former Knicks are contributing to the success of that team thus far.

We didn't draft him, and including him in the Anthony trade was a blunder by Walsh, or whomever gave Walsh the OK to add him to the deal.

Bad move by the front office...bigs don't grow on trees

Only took him 8 years to finally start avg 8 points and 8 rebounds! Good job Timmy!!!

Yep.

Kid started and had a big game before We traded him.
Don't blame anyone but Dolan who lost any leverage when he entered the scene. The kid was gonna be fine and he only in the league 4 years. not 8 Nuggs got Mcgee and Karl went with Kofos than develop him. Get it straight. Bigs are hard to find. With the amnesty from Billups Money Knicks signed Tyson who did just fine for two years. Was DPOY and nobody was crying about mosgove then.
Some of you whine in the aftermath and lament only when its right in front of you. Looking to lay blame on a person than a process. Some of you would still go for that too.
Biggest change in philosophy in 30 years and some of you can't even see it. What do you really see, Lebron now surrounded by some decent role players. Three stars were sucking until they got Mozzy and some decent pieces. Its called DEPTH! Something we lack.
Y'all just sound ignorant.

I think the Phil era may prove to be very good. He will make mistake along the way, but who cares? As long as he continues to move forward with his plan and is not rigid about it, he will be successful.

"Shocking to know he was drafted"
You bet it is.

We should sticky this to the LinLove threads. Maybe the NBA Forum could be renamed "64,000 Reasons Why I Still Hate The Trade" forum?
At least no one will be blaming Melo when JR and Shump are starting the 2018 AllStar game.
Or will they?

lol. kills me when dudes start playing well YEARS after they've been here and then every half-witted poster on here is up in arms because they "weren't allowed to flourish" here and we shoulda held onto him. mozgov was traded FOUR years ago and hadn't done a whole lot in denver. glad he's playing well though, i always kinda liked him.

Huge Mozgov fan. One of the best Centers in the game. Prime example of a player who impacts the game without filling up the no score every night.
As evident by The tear Cleveland has been on since acquiring him. I'm happy for him because in Denver he was always sharing minutes at Center with nene, McGee, Anderson, Nurkic & koufus. No he gets a chance to solidify his NBA legacy playing with the best friends player in the world.
I still remember the gaping hole left at center when we traded Mozgov and were relegated to watching Turiaf & Amare pretend to play Center

this is the most exaggerated post ever.
gunsnewing@ 1/28/2015 8:48 AM
Not an exaggeration. There is a reason Cleveland gave up 2 1st round picks for him.
Not many 7ft+ Centers who are rim protectors/rebounders as good as Mozgov in the league.
This place would be going crazy if we had him in the middle instead of Sam Dalembert, Jason Smith, Cole Aldrich & Andrea Bargnani
Especially next to someone like OK4

I agree. The dude plays like a true big man. He is long and agile. He is not a scorer/ball stopper, some on this board will never like him. Those same folks are the ones clAmoring for Phil to resign Amare. For some around here, defense has no value.

He was a rookie when we traded him for Melo so he's been in the league 4yrs not 8

And was very productive a yr or two prior to being traded there

Mosgov got psychologically destroyed following this (in his first season with us):
We all remember he didn't look like the same player after it, for the rest of his stint with us! (even though it was clearly a) an offensive foul and b) wasn't even a dunk!).
gunsnewing@ 1/28/2015 11:23 AM
He was playing in Russia for David Blatt prior to being traded to Denver. Walsh signed him out of Russia. He was a rookie in 2010/11. The year we traded him for Melo.
Blatt likes him and pushed to get him to Cleveland despite it costing them 2 1st round picks and it has worked out well for them
