Greg Anthony pleads not guilty
WASHINGTON -- Basketball analyst Greg Anthony is pleading not guilty to a charge of soliciting a prostitute.

Anthony's lawyer entered the plea on his behalf during an appearance in D.C. Superior Court on Monday. Anthony, who is scheduled to return to court Feb. 11, declined comment after the hearing.

Anthony is charged with soliciting a prostitute at a Washington hotel on Jan. 16. Court documents say he responded to an escort ad authorities placed on the classifieds website Backpage.com.

The 47-year-old former NBA player was suspended by CBS and Turner Sports following his arrest. Anthony apologized in a statement to his wife, family and colleagues, calling his actions a "lapse of judgment."

Anthony had been in the nation's capital to announce a basketball game between Michigan State and Maryland in suburban Washington.

Well that's the title ESPN had on the link to the article.
Part of why I posted this was to see how many people it would trick though since ESPN tricked me.

Anyone the legal technicalities here? What the hell did apologize for if he's pleading not guilty?

He's apologizing for appearing to get actually caught doing something he really didn't mean to do. It's called postmodern ethics.

Dollars to donuts his lawyer's going to claim entrapment.
