Rumor has it that this dude is available. Why not put together a package Utah might consider? WE must replace Bargnani and Amare

Like what?
He can fill our Hebrew quota!
He's a skilled inside guy man. I'd love to get him now but the draft right there. I'd hate to lose out on the guy especially if we can't get towns or okafor
im not sure how much you know about him either since all you said is that he has an offensive game and can defend. i know a bit about kanter myself, but i'd like to hear your scouting report on him.

I can answer that. Dude has a gifted touch on the inside. He has very good moves once in the paint. He can finish with both hands. He has a great first step and motor. I think he would have no problem in the triangle cuz hes a reactive players. He can hit the jumper as well.
On the defense, he's adequate. He's not bad like Amare. He's active cuz of his motor. He is like lou amundson in the was that he knows to seal off the lane. He's not a shot blocker.

I wod trade for the dude; specifically, if we can get Utah to give us a draft pick. Please remember that we have zero pick for next year. Their back court is very young; they might be incline to trade kanter and a pick for Calderon

Other words, he is a young big who can improve under the right coaching. Trade for him; what do we have to lose? As long as we are not trading a pick.

Kanter is lacking in areas we need at the position- shot blocking and passing.
With that said, getting him and a pick for Calderon would be a nice pickup for the Knicks.
What is his contract situation?

i know all about kanter, was high on him coming from turkey, but i wanted to hear 69s interpretation. kanter has been mentioned here ad-nauseam over the years.

Ny4ever, how do you really feel about Kanter???

why would utah give us a pick??

Do you not know Utah's biggest problem? They can't attract free agents; the only way they can obtain veteran leadership is via a trade. With the wealth of youth they currently have, it is behooved them to get a couple of veterans to help groom them. It is not a guaranty that the young kids will want to stay in Utah once their rookie contract is over.
no thanks... he is a lost cause on defense...

You would still say no if Utah agrees to give us a pick???
i would take the pick... but it's not a kanter trade.. it would be a trade for the pick with kanter moving on.. it's not a realistic scenario anyway.. and i wouldn't trade galloway for him either...
Please no more PF's and C's who cannot defend. Im so sick of the Amare's and Barg's of the world. Kanter can score inside it seems but he is an atrocious defender. And then as mreinman and others have pointed out he is also an awful passer. Double NO THANK YOU. Further, if the Knicks are really going to put together a team that can fulfill the tenets of the triangle are they really gonna be getting post guys who are atrocious passers? Seems to me the answer will be no but who knows.
Not a fan of Kanter or any PF/C that is soft on D. Bring back the Mase's and Oakley's of the world to play in the Garden. I want to see guys on their asses when they drive to the hoop. Damnit.

dude ... you are a good poster and passionate but this is the most preposterous proposal I have ever seen.
They will give up Kanter and a number 1 pick for the rights to take on Jose Calderon and his bloated contract?
Maybe if we send them Calderon and 2 number one picks then they would give us Kanter.
Apparently Kanter has publicly expressed a desire to be traded.
dude's Cap Hold is around $11M for the team he is potentially traded to.
Kanter is not a good rim protector.
But, he's still young and could fine tune his skills.
I see him as a second big off the bench right now.
I'd check in after the season's over and see if he's still available,
but only at the right price.
Otherwise, I'd pass.
