That may be the worst defensive starting 5 in the history of the NBA ... seriously!
What's the difference between mine and yours? Green is good but need a big center if you have him at the 4. Other than that the lineups are identical.

He said he wanted a big shooting euro....people with big criticism usually have no ideas

Agreed. I was thinking more from the perspective of attainable free agents who fit the triangle. Having a defensive minded bench or replacing one of the bigs with a more defensive minded big takes care of the defense concern.

Lavoy Allen is a great option. Good defender and solid bball IQ.
OMG, you guys are all hoping for this to happen. We're fucked.

Reminds me of Kurt Thomas. Shouldn't be too expensive. Automatic double/double as a starter; would be very useful off the bench as a backup 4/5 as well.

Revising and may prefer r Lopez instead of kanter. Can be had cheaper and provides more balance. He's a great option as center as he's only 26, can be a defensive anchor, and has a good IQ for the offense.
This isn't my ideal line-up but something I think that may be more realistic.
Free Agents signed.... G-Monroe, T-Young, K-Koufas, C-Joseph
2015 draft pick - E-Mudiay
Pg Mudiay / C-Joseph
Sg Galloway / THJ
Sf Melo / Early
Pf Young / J-Smith

I am actually hoping for Wes as our pickup and Dray is growing on me fast. Those 2 can both play defense. However, my list is not really my want but what I think may happen.
My dream scenario that can technically happen:
Towns
Melo (would love to trade him for picks but it is not happening)
Lopez or Dray
Wes Mathews
Cory Joseph
This team is a two way efficient team and relatively long.
If we can't get Mudiay in the draft or tier 1 guys like Knight/Dragic/Jackson in FA, another PG upgrade I wouldn't mind at all -- Jeremy Lin. If he came for the right price this time (talk about a guy that owes us), I'd take him back. Would Dolan be man enough to bury the hatchet and let bygones be bygones? Would Melo be willing to play with him again? Two big question marks right there...Dude hasn't been the same since leaving NY and he was huge here. We already know he's got the belly for NY. Hasn't been great since leaving NY -- I don't know about Linsanty part deux or anything but I think he could be damn good here once again.

Were going to get a great player from the draft(hopefully we mine another 1-2 players as well) and then we do have around 30mm to spend. Im personally against signing more than 1 premium 4 yr contract as it's to risky. Im not into Wes Matthews for big 4 year money at all.
What's wrong with Matthews? Not a playmaker but excellent shooter, defender and only 28. Not injury prone like Kevin Martin
Yep- the key things for me are his defense and the fact he is tough, and hard working, and consistent.
C- Robin Lopez or Towns
PF- OK4 or Monroe
SF- Melo
SG- Wes Mathews or Danny Green
PG- Beverley
One name going around I can't see leaving his situation is Milsap. Atlanta had been playing better and better since he's been there. That's his team. I really can't see him leaving. I believe he's found a home in Atlanta
