From all accounts, he had Phils blessing as he had verbally committed to knicks until GS swept him off his feet.

Really, I thought everyone handled it very well.

Dumb letter, but we all know there are dumb fans. what gets me is why (if its real) dolan would address him when he rarely exhibits anything? How does one get Dolans personal E-mail anyway? Telling dolan is amateur hour anyway. If he has relinquished control to Jax regarding all basketball operations then its basically what any fan would want.

I wondered that too. It's like when Amare responded to that fan calling him a f*g. Why dignify these guys with a response at all? They're the ones under a microscope, not the fans.
TPercy @ 2/8/2015 5:21 PM
Kinda reminds of that Melo tweet he posted saying happy new year, then a fan said something really negative, then melo burned him on the spot. It was funny but uneccessary

I hope you're right. That kind of response should be way beneath the dignity of an NBA team owner.

knickscity @ 2/8/2015 6:54 PM
Both parties were unprofessional in their emails, but actually gave me a good laugh in this awful season. Good job fellas.

The people you hire are a reflection of you. People you give recommendations of are a reflection of you. Whether your personal opinion of this states you disagree means nothing because it is a fact. If you hire bad workers you look bad... And that's how it should be.

Yeah, but clearly the expectation and importance of professionalism is a lot higher for an NBA team owner than some random fan.
mreinman @ 2/8/2015 7:23 PM
can't be true, nobody is that dumb ... oh wait
GustavBahler @ 2/8/2015 7:50 PM
Unless Dolan is off the wagon, I doubt that he wrote it.

Dolan doesn't have any dignity; he's the most embarrassing owner in sports.

Me too, and it is not like it is a celebrity or anything. It is just some random die hard knick fan. Plus I could imagine that they get stuff like this EVERYDAY, so why respond to this one?

Who says I am trying to defend him, I just did not believe at the time(before someone provided my the espn link) that he would be so ignorant to do that;in fact, I hate him with a passion for all this melo bs that has happened.
WOw, shame on him though, that is something you would expect JR Smit to do.

I still have a hard time believing Dolan actually wrote that email.

Its petty beyond belief. And Adam Silver should get involved and force some kind of apology. Its absurd.

Dolan may be sober, but he's stupid. There is clear, irrefutable empirical evidence that Dolan has driven this franchise into the ground.

Nalod @ 2/9/2015 8:29 AM
I find it incredible he'd to their. The point of the very paranoid media policy they have is to prevent this type of thing.
Reflects badly on everyone.

There are stupid fans who are venting idiotic statements all the time.

All the time.

Creating new threads.

Spacing them in manners we don't understand.

Making up new words.

Cartman718 @ 2/9/2015 8:38 AM
the original email was written by walt frazier.
gunsnewing @ 2/9/2015 9:54 AM
I pretty sure Dolan was heavily intoxicated when he wrote this email

TPercy wrote:There is no way in hell James Dolan himself actually wrote that,

Yes there is. It is called reflection. Dolan is reflecting what he feels about himself on someone else.

gunsnewing @ 2/9/2015 9:57 AM
It's about time the Knicks give us some excitement. Where's Anucha when you need her!

Same... This sounds like it was meant to sound like Dolan but its hard to imagine he would be so stupid to actually send this out. How would Dolan even get this mail? Its not like being a season ticket holder means you get his direct email. Typically sr. corporate officers had anything screened anyway.

That being said Dolan has a pattern of behavior consistent with this... he's not smart. At all.
