There is one play that must be removed out of the playbook if Carmelo is to remain with the Knicks. the play where he brings up the ball, dribbles it around and takes that quick jumper, must be eliminated. It is either he is never asked to bring up the ball from the back court or he is asked to run something else. I.e: Pass it around and quickly get to the elbow for a quick shot.
thats one we can start with.
I highly doubt that's in the playbook. If it is, Fisher needs to be fired this second.
In all seriousness though, Melos gonna get more free reign than others when it comes to scoring since he is so good at it (whether you agree with that or not is a separate issue) but he does need take shots within the flow much more. He also needs to spot the open man when he's posting up. Either last season or the one before it he was very good at passing it out. Not so much this year.

not so much any year.

I know that comes with trusting your team mates, but bad habits are hard to get rid off. Fisher as a coach needs to hold him accountable

I agree. I hate anytime he brings up the ball.

I'm pretty sure it was the 54 win season. We had that whole hockey assist debate on here because of it.
Carmelo is a good passer when he trust that he will collect at least an assist:)
The guy really needs to shut it down. I mean we are stuck with that contract so we have to make sure he is healthy when we acquire a top pick and free agents

Phil needs to step in and orders him to do so

I hope you are wrong. Given his latest email to a fan, Dolan might be stupid enough to do so.

i wish i was wrong but i dont think so. Its common knowledge he went over walshs head and engineered the trade and probably the resigning. If he wants melo to play and melo agrees phil probably has no say. Everything else phil has free reign

Hockey assist - What a asinine term. Seems like it is something created by MELO fanboys to defend Melo and his straight greed

yeah ... the funny is that he really does not get hockey assists. Maybe some hockey shots if the open shots are not longer there.
