Knicks · With Towns at 5 (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 2/10/2015 11:45 PM
Id save 1/2 the money to hopefully slot KD right into the 3 position for 2016---Id rather sign younger players 1 semi big contract and 1 year contracts

for example

5--Towns(on the job training and defensive anchor)

4 Carlos Boozer 1 year 5mm(gives us a pro 4 man)

3 Carmelo Anthony

2/1 Jose Calderon(comes off the books)

1/2 Reggie Jackson 4 years 34mm(8.5mm) Can interchange with Calderon and give us a physical defender.

5 Jason Smith 1 year 3.5mm

4 Rakeem Christmas Acquired pick 23(future lotto protected #1)

3 Lance Thomas

2 Marcus Thorton 1 year 3.5mm

1 Langston Galloway

That would keep us with a max slot for 2016 and I think this would be a team much more competitive while we improve.

Also looking for a future 3 point specialist in the 2nd round--perhaps a Tyler Harvey if he comes out Kyle Wiltijer from Gonzaga etc.. someone we get buy a pick for in rd 2 as a specialist

Not bad but in 2016 I'd like to see
C-Towns-Ajinca
PF-Davis
SF-Melo-Lance
SG-Butler/Matthews/Green/Affalo???
PG-Galloway/Knight/Jackson/Joseph/Beverly/Lin????

Mimic last Laker champion
C-Bynum
PF-Gasol
SF-Odom
SG-Kobe
PG-Fisher

but I have a feeling we will over spend this year on a 30yr old big like Gasol, Millsap, Monroe, Lopez or Asik

Gasol at C with Towns at PF is nice too

However if we get rid of Melo I'm all for bringing in Durant

Yeah, if Towns/Okafor/Russell turns out to be a franchise player, then I think they wont have a problem trading him unless he becomes more of a team player or cancer on the court.
