Is there currently a big man in DLeague like Whiteside that we can bring in now that "no defensive" Amare is gone???
Onuaku from 'Cuse is down there. He is huge and has a freakish wingspan. I think he was up on the Cavs last year but didn't stick.
Khem Birch is my guy here. Not a 7-footer but he's got very good overall length -- 6'9"+ 220-ish, 7'1" wingspan, 8'11" standing reach. Athletic rebounder/explosive shot-blocker that has some decent potential on the offensive end as well -- shooting a whopping 69.5% from the floor (also over 70% from the line), he actually has a very soft touch, he can shoot out to about 15' (though he rarely does), can play pick and roll/pop, cat-quick for a big--great first step to the goal, jumping jack-type (great 2nd and third efforts on putbacks, etc.). An adept shot-blocker first and foremost, I like his hustle and potential all-around skills. Could be a big-time glue guy...6'9" 220 sounds thin but if you've seen him, he's not a guy that gets pushed around -- he's got enough size...Makes much more sense to me over a Lou Amundson, now on the current team and for next year. My bid to up the shot-blocking for next year would be to sign this guy cheap and then also get much more out of my 5 spot somehow (Jeff Withey, maybe this kid Jordan Bachynski, draft Karl Towns, etc.). Ideally, I'd like to see the frontcourt, at any given time, feature legit scoring at the 3/4 and shot-blocking at the 5, scoring at 3/5 and some shot-blocking at the 4, etc.. Come up with a lineup of players that balance one another.

I like Birch a lot. Also, Sanders being bought out in Milwaukee is very intriguing. He may get more than the Knicks can offer.

I doubt anybody would invest a lot of money at someone who signed a big contract and within a yr of that contract he was on record talkeing about quitting the nba. I dont see anybody throwing a huge investment into a liability.
Sanders Will not be a Knicks. He has mental issues; which is not what Phil is looking to acquire.
