Knicks · Knicks also get Shevd the tall PG (page 2)

Who cares another guy who shoots 30%

that its happening at all is what makes it a positive.

Why the hell didn't the Knicks dump Shane Larkin...
MaTT4281 @ 2/19/2015 4:27 PM
Haven't seen too much of Shved, but I thought he was pretty highly thought of with Minnesota. No harm in seeing what we've got here.

I think any team that traded for him would have faced the same restrictions we will if trying to re-sign him next season. Any capologists out there want to verify?

So we got 2 2nd round picks and Alexey Shved (expiring contract) for Pablo. Is that right? No bad, man. I didn't think we could even get 1 2nd round pick for him, let alone 2. + an intriguing expiring young player who probably won't be coming back next year but let's see. Not bad at all. How can you knock this deal?

Exactly....I think he will be solid in the triangle. Plus he will get lots of playing time without Melo's ISO ball.

It's like we just called up a 6'7 D league player for a short term contract, while getting two 2nd round picks on top as a gift.

Shved for Pablo str8 up would've been a good trade. Add two 2nd round picks, and thats icing on the cake.

Any trade that doesn't rape the knicks, is a solid trade in my book. Beggers can't be choosers.

yea... sigh of relief here. For once we didnt do anything totally retarded.

Getting a good look at Sved has no downside. Im sure we will release his bird rights but who knows... maybe he does well and plays in the system. Maybe he just loves NY and gets comfortable here.

This is the best way to look at him.

He is not as terrible as some think, although he's never shown consistent quality on the floor. Not sure about how he will do in the Triangle or whether he can play D, but he actually does have some intriguing skill as a passer, and has had some moments in his career where he looked like a decent NBA player. He does not shoot well from distance, but can shoot from midrange, so he might fit in better with our offense. I see him as more of a PG, but he does have the size to play at SG.

Maybe consistent minutes will let us see what he might be able to do.

Watching Lance Thomas with the Knicks makes you think about what it takes for guys to get into a comfort zone where they know their role and make the best use of their capabilities.

At least we have another player to evaluate.

And maybe we can't find better players in the off season and keep him on his QO.

I like him - I hope we give him a chance.

You can't get expect to get NBA level talent. That being said, this guy would be dynamite in my pick-up league.
TPercy @ 2/19/2015 4:59 PM
This dude can fly! and he was a rising star like two three years ago, wouldnt mind giving him a shot,
TPercy @ 2/19/2015 5:11 PM
Also I watched some highlights, bit of reading, he takes a bunch of midrangers
gunsnewing @ 2/19/2015 5:38 PM

Nalod @ 2/19/2015 5:41 PM
We Schvedn't get too excited!

If he makes some big shots and some great passes tomorrow you should copyright it ASAP.

nixluva @ 2/19/2015 5:47 PM
I think it's a good move. Shved isn't necessarily as bad as it might seem. Guys like him might look better in this system. We've already seen that some players look better in this system and some look worse. It's a good move to take a look and see if he fits.

I remember watching him play in the 2012 Olympics and he kept Russia in quite a few games with his pull up J. He's just too streaky from out there. His three has been pretty inconsistent too. He's a good passer tho.

This might be just what the kid needs. This system might give him a chance to use his strengths more and hide his weaknesses.

nixluva @ 2/19/2015 7:20 PM
Hey man we need some more Shved highlights around here Notice the ball handling, passing and driving ability. This kid has some talent. Maybe we can coach him up and get his confidence back cuz he has had some real flashes in his career and needs to gain consistency. This might be a good situation for him to do that.

anrst @ 2/19/2015 7:27 PM
all i know is that when he gets PT he's been a useful spot start in fantasy .
RicanHavok @ 2/19/2015 7:31 PM
Schved is most likely headed back to Russia after this season. I think it's something that Minny was aware of before they moved him to Philly.

I agree with you that this is the place where he can prove and gain consistency, but that is up to him. If the coaches are having a hard time with telling THJR not to take so many 3s or larkin not being afriad to finsih then I highly doubt we could coach the dudes confidence.
