Can shoot....can drive....can pass....and at 6'5 he can rebound. His motor is the only question mark. But phil is trying to create a system where average players can blossum....similar to the spurs. I see you Phil. He likes making moves that impacts the present and future.

thought this thread was a gross over-reaction when it was started. this is why you give guys a chance, especially when they haven't played alot in the league. shevd shining when given the opportunity.

The one major factor in determining true talent will always be PT. We have to give Phil credit for this trade. He turned a 38 year old player into Shevd and two second rounders. Sheved looks like a keeper his game is fluid and easy Morey looks like he has major flaws in his talent evaluation. I remember everyone here signing his praises like he could do no wrong.

I know some guys laughed at the idea of Shved but I knew he had some talent that could be tapped. He was a favorite player of me and my sons because he had the funny name, was skinny and really had some nice moves. He had a little swagger to him too and didn't play like a Euro. I knew he'd be a good passer and had driving ability. The only things that were a question were his shooting and his defense. He really has taken advantage of his opportunity. Phil and his staff did a nice job bringing him in. He was targeted by Phil. Shved wasn't just an add on to a trade. they used part of a Trade Exception he got for Felton in order to trade for Shved in what was basically a separate trade from the Prigioni trade for 2 picks. Like Galloway, Shved was a legit scouting win.

This guy CANNOT SHOOT. Whatever else he does, he cannot shoot with any resemblance of consistency.

36% career FG shooter, 29% 3pt shooter. Shoots free throws pretty weak also 75%.

He's gonna have to improve mightily to be a bad shooter.

People need to calm down on this guy.

Now that I said that, he'll probably turn into a hall of famer starting next game, but those are the facts up to now.

Right after the draft, while Rubio was hurt, Shved looked promising with his size/ability to penetrate/score/faciltitate and many here wished we could have kept our 2nd rounder that could have landed him in the deal for CA

Years later, he hasn't gotten much PT and find the right system/complimentary players
Even this year, he has stepped up in Philly as the 3rd PG and sometimes 2nd when MCW/Wroten were out

Shved is pretty much killing it production wise. He's been rocking a PER of 21 and I think he has even more upside if he can take his strength and conditioning seriously this summer and work on his shooting. He does everything else very well.

I like what I see. What he is worth? I ain't no GM so I don't no. If they are gonna pay him then it will obviously be taking a risk though possibly a calculated one.

10 games as a Knick: 13/5/3 and shooting 38% and playing good defense as well.
In 3 starts he's putting up 18ppg, 7rebs and 5 assists and shooting very well, and most of all impacting the game. He's not just stuffing the stat sheet, he's making really good plays.

So unless he totally drops off you pick up the QO and at the very worst control his destiny. More than happy to pay $4mm next year for a 1 year deal to keep him around (the QO).

Can teams pick up the QO and then rescind it if they need the money for free agency? I have a vague memory of something like that happening, but I could be wrong

Yeah, I know his stats, and that's not impressive enough over a 10 game stretch to take up $6m. I hope he does keep up his good play though because it would be nice to have a player doing what he is doing. Hopefully, he goes to the gym to work on his shooting(shot selection) and work with a dietitian nutritionist.
