Towns is a defensive beast with tremendous shot blocking instincts. He has a soft touch and is excellent passing out of double teams. I take his game over Okafor's, who has only footwork that is better at this point. Towns can develop that later.
As long as we end up with one of okafor towns or russell ill be happy
Towns is definitely the guy I want. Not that I think Okafor is going to be bad or anything but Towns can be a force on both ends of the court.
Stein is a hell of an athlete
Great game by Towns so far 3/3 FG 6rebs & 3 blks
One thing watching this is realizing just how soft we play inside. Kentucky would beat us

Agree.....our team has no chance Vs. Kentucky. They are much more talented and better coached

Does he have any kind of offensive game that he can develop? Fast break and pick and roll slams are not what I would be looking for, however spectacular they are. Below average foul shooter. I Know that Noah developed some kind of offensive game, despite looking awkward- can Stein do the same thing.
A Tyson Chandler type player, which is not bad, but I would not even consider him in the 1-4 area of the draft.
I've heard him speak in an interview and was impressed, and he is an intelligent guy who plays within himself and does not try to force things on the court, but after 3 years in college I'm surprised that he is not more polished offensively.

I am afraid that a team like the Knicks would not know what to do with such a talent. This dude reminds me of Bill Russell.
I don't see the Tyson Chandler comparisons with Stein.
Stein has the ability to guard an NBA SG or SF right out of the gate. Over time when his body develops, that will translate into being able to defend an NBA 4. He's also capable of being a good fast break player. Chandler doesn't do any of these.

You guys do realize that Chandler was once young too right?

He is he's the best player. Since he was called out a month ago his game has stepped up and tonight you can see the full package. Hes a pf not a c but he just seems 3-4 inches longer and more fluid than okafor. Okafor is a 20- 10 player but towns is a game changer on the d

He plays big, and you can just sense that through his defensive presence. He also has the rare ability for a college player to know when to pass, and know when to attack. Basically, he plays with a pretty good composure.

Give me karl towns at 1 wood at 23 and christmas at 33 and were set upfront for 12 years

Too bad Philly has a better chance to do this combo then the Knicks:)))

Coach Cal only played Towns 16 mins his last game due to a lack of effort.

I think philly with embiid and noel need some other positions. Wood and hristmas are lower ranked prospects that we have a chance of adding

Russell is going to be one hell of an NBA talent. At 6'5'', it's highly likely his NBA future will be at shooting guard. His skill set is also much more advanced at the 2 than it is at the 1. This kid has true 2 guard fluidity. He's easily a 21 ppg player by his third season.
