We went from a 54 win season, tops in our division, to a team that makes the likes of Orlando's Evan Fournier look like Magic Johnson. We were decent a season and a half ago and now we rely on D-Leaguers, sons of baseball players, 10 day contract players, Italians that get hurt if they blink, Russians that have played for four teams this season alone, Pete Sampras, and Stymie.
What happened?
How from 54 wins to, I say, 18 wins this season? Injuries? Poor management? Coaching? Just bad luck? Can you pin it down? It is extraordinary. I really have never seen anything like it in sports. Even Marshall after their tragedy put together a better team than what we have now. How did this happen in so short a time?
I thought you said you weren't coming back 'till draft night.

Don't focus on this- it's fools gold.

I came back because we signed Shved. Incredible move by Jackson. I jumped for joy, pumped my fist when I heard we got Shved. Was the steal of the trade deadline. One of the great GM moves in NBA history. So looking forward now to the final 28 games.
Wait a minute, getting rid of Woodson was what led to this insane decline?
You guys are comedians, right?

I STRONGLY disagree but with your name you had to have seen that coming.

Since you started posting here, all I or anyone else on these boards wanted to do was fire Woodson. You have only yourself to blame
54 wins seems more of the anomaly vs the treadmill like results prior (or worse) and since. you had some guys play at levels they couldnt sustain (jr at the least). injuries, retirements... whats to hang your hat on with that team? what might have been? its done. only 1 guy left from that team now

Did Woodson ever get a fair shot here??...The guy won 54 games and they were calling for his head...How do you not ask the guy who just won 54 games, how can we build on this???..He was done in the following December when Dolan courted Phil...He never had a chance..
You may not like Woodson but he knew how to get the best out of his players and he did...

Yeah, I'd have to say something close to this. As much as I think Woodson is garbage, it did help him to have a GM that was on the same page as him. Once Grunwald was let go, there was a severe disconnect that surely effected him. The year before that when they were on the same page we had a 54 win team.

You are kidding me? He is just as much of a reason we are in this predicament as anyone. Does he really deserve to be celebrated by you? It's not like he is some kind of R.C. Buford we let slip away

54 win team made up of 4 key 40year olds
If we didbn't sign Amare & Dolan didn't get involved in the Melo trade we wouldn't have solely been relying on 4 40yr olds

That were acquired through the process of Woodson and Grunwald working together which is what I'm saying.

I see. That one point is true. Grunwald did the best he could do with what he had left after Dolan sabotaged the team

We got them because Woodson likes having vets. D'antoni wasn't relying on 40 yr olds and he originally had the team Woodson inherited.
