I can to some degree. After initially being misdiagnosed by another orthopedist, I had shoulder surgery last summer. It took almost three years from the original injury, 6 months of PT and rehab, to be able to lift weights again. Just weeks later, my other shoulder is giving me problems. Could be 4 years before Im 100 percent, or close to it. Very taxing.

Anyone who didn't see the Rose breakdown was deluding themselves, it's a real shame for him and the league.Last i checked Bulls are still in pretty good shape anyway. They probably made the right move because in order to get melo they would have had to do a sign and trade which would have hurt their depth and draft picksI wonder if this makes Jimmy Butler more available this offseason. The Bulls said they'd go into the luxury tax for a CONTENDING team- without Rose, and with Noah on the decline, and Gasol aging, I'm not sure they are. Plus with the emergence of Snell, and Butler's cooling off these past 2 months, maybe they let Butler walk. I'm really not sure- maybe Roses injury makes them go the other way (they decide they can't afford to lose Butler if Rose is done).
I would say they may be in trouble, especially if they fire Thibs in the offseason. According to Bulls fans, Gasol puts up a lot of empty stats and his defense undermines his scoring. Noah has been a a shadow of himself this season (recovering from knee surgery, which I suspect was micro fracture or something of that ilk). Heinrich is done, Dunleavy will be gone.
I like Snell and Mirotic (who can replace Gasol as he starts to decline), likely they trade Taj Gibson. But is a core of Jimmy Butler, Snell, Mitotic, Gasol and declining Noah without Thibs as coach a contending team worth going into the luxury tax for? Their owner is tight.

Imagine if they had gotten Melo? Both him and Rose watching the playoffs. I doubt playing a few less minutes per night with the Bulls would have kept Melo's knee from getting cut this season.

ha ha which bulls' fans? incredible. i saw gasol put in a close to dominant performance against the nets a few weeks back, along with butler who was incredible and mirotic was very effective. rose not so much.
gasols rpm are both above 1.00 so he must be doing something more than putting up "empty stats." meanwhile had a similar orpm but is a defensive sieve, netting a negative-sum player.
sounds like bulls' fans may be just as stupid as knicks fans.
The looks that Rose takes, takes away shots and opportunities that these guys and others make, especially for Butler/Gasol, with timely cuts for whoever has the favorible match up

It's funny that you said this, because i have shoulder issues where my shoulder pops out all the time, when im not care full, especially if i have been drinking. been trying to work out and strengthen it out, but thats not helping. I really don't want to have surgery.

i think that surgery is the only way given what you have described. i had complete shoulder reconstruction (everything torn but not dislocated) after being hit by a car while riding my bike. in my opinion you won't regret it and it will make your shoulder ten years younger. no point in always having a fear of it popping out always in the back of your mind, right?
i live in brooklyn and had enrique monsanto from ny methodist. for your sort of injury i think the rehab is probably closer to 3 months than 6 months.

I don't blame you. My problem was bone spurs, one of them was shaped like the tip of a spear and was pressing right on my rotator cuff. I would have your shoulder looked at, can't hurt to know what the deal is, and then you can make the decision thats best for you.

Personally I would keep that head and cut off your other one.
Look at how Curry adapted his play. He had serious injuries to both ankles and (for the most part) he adapted his game to put less stress on his ankles. Watch early clips of him and you'll see him doing stressful dribbling, crazier turns, and so on. Yes, he still does some of that but . . . he does less of it over all and, for the most part, he plays a fairly sane, body-damange wise, game. The other day, when GS needed to beat SAS, he went all-out and played somewhat risky play-off-style ball and . . . apparently injured his ankle/foot and had to sit a couple practices and the next game. I suspect he'll try to mostly keep that stuff under control until the playoffs to, doh, save his ankles for when they count. Rose, on the other hand, has played all-out in every game I've seen him in and he continues to do risky stuff every game, all game long. Why he and the Chicago staff didn't sit down and figure out how to turn Rose's play into less stressful play is unclear. There was talk of such happening but . . . it didn't happen. Who cares if it takes Rose a year or more to learn how to transition into a sold role player or just a different, but starting, PG? He's a fine player overall and he'd still be very useful at, say, 80% of full-on crazy-playing Rose. Players like Livingston who have been forced to make such transitions are still quite solid players, just not nightly superstars. Rose is not going to be a nightly superstar and, if he doesn't change his play, he's likely to out of the league soon. I'm sure Rose is difficult to coach but . . . I think the team should have simply insisted that he play in a more sane manner . . . or get rid of him, even if his trade value was iffy. At this point, his trade value is going to be zero.

More passive aggressive posts. Who are you talking to when you make these posts? Are you trying to ridicule them to the rest of us? Are you hoping we turn against them and like you more and join your gang? It's like being back at school.

The best part is he went away to chase more enriching endevours and is back. I guess it took him what? 4 weeks to realize he's not good at anything in life but establishing his superior intellect by hating guys like nixluva who here because they are fans of the team.
Anyway, back to topic... tough break for Rose. He's done.. officially Danny Manning territory. Terrible, dude was a great talent and fun to watch.

And at least he's incredibly original. We don't have to go through the normal banal exercise of figuring out what banned or self-exiled loser from the past he happens to be.
His meso-marxist hate of Dolan and MSG corporate is truly stunning. I mean, I've seen the normal "don't buy the tickets, the season plan, the jerseys, the hats", but a level of hate that indicates posters as MSG plants and monitors of a site that lives on (no offense, martin/Andrew) Hooters clicks and doesn't affect anything in reality beyond some posters' blood pressure, anti-depressant medication levels and waste of free time/corporate internet bandwidth.
We get melohate, underwritten with Dolan hate, with Fishhate, Philhate... I'm waiting for him to start explaining how H20 is actually contributing to some deep-dyed plot to up Dolan's stock option plan through cutting Westchester's player salaries, so that we should all start picketing...
Wait, who the hell is this Rose guy, anyway? Is he on Jimmie's payroll too?
GustavBahler wrote:Rose had his surgery, walked out of hospital, they say 4-6 weeks...
Unless, of course, Rose does not agree with the timetable set by "they."
Seem to recall another time when Rose missed the playoffs when he might have been able to play at a reduced production.
Hope he comes back this year...won't be surprised if he doesn't.

Its possible, this procedure wasn't as serious as his other surgeries, but he's had a lot of them. If Rose sits out these playoffs after being cleared to play, I get the feeling that the Bulls will explore trading him.
