Right menicus tear..Surgery to be scheduled..
Not a huge fan of Rose but I hate to see him going through this. It must be tough to have injuries constantly holding you back from doing what you love.
Also, imagine if the Bulls got Melo in the off season? With him and Rose out close to the same time that would have been awful.
That has to be so tough on the fans to go through so many times with this now. To me hed be relegated to a back up 20 minute player. He cant go more than 20 minutes and he needs 10-12 games off. He cant do it--so use him for what you can.
it's a shame he never tried to develop a better dribbling technique, always relying on palming to enable those crossovers that put so much torsion on the knees. this could be the writing on the wall.
The guy keeps trying to take off from the foul line every time he drives. He's always going extremely hard very violently. He should have tried to learn to change speeds while he recovered like his mentor Rod Strickland.
All these young guys need to learn how to play. Their freak athletic ability is their gift, but the human body can't take that trauma every night.
Sucks for everyone. Not just Thibs and his teammates.... bulls fans and basketball fans in general. You want to see great basketball. You want a good competitive league. Sucks that we'll miss Rose for a 3rd straight playoffs. It takes alot for a knick fan to feel bad for a bulls fan. This is it
Prayers for a speedy recovery. I hope this doesn't mess with Rose head too much.
That said if I am Chi I would start a fire sell during the summer.
this is another generation's kevin johnson... such a shame...
Really too bad. Great player with a horrible injury history. Not everyone is able to endure that level of stress on the body. This guy is such a freak athlete that it put to much stress on his knees. I tend to prefer players that aren't living off of their athletic ability. IMO you just can't rely on having that for an entire career. I prefer the smart, skilled players who get it done without having to constantly make such great athletic moves just to be successful. Just cuz you can dunk all the time doesn't mean you should. Gotta know how to conserve energy and save your body. ESPECIALLY after you've already had major injuries.

You still don't trade him...at least I wouldn't. Too talented. Just reduce his minutes like Briggs suggested.
Those knee injuries are no joke.
Butler is going to be even more of a priority to resign now I would presume.

i wasn't really thinking about him because his value would be dirt cheap. I would try to trade of Gibson, Gasol, and even Noah. My goal would be to build around Butler but with younger less injured players. Noah would be a last resort but he has had health issues too.
Get well Rose.
And lucky for melo hadn't joined Bulls.
Ive had two achillies surgeries. ...so i know when someone is playing hurt. ...or favoring one side. I said to my boy. ...rose might look good to you. ...but to me he looks hurt. He's just so great that when he plays hurt. ...he's still elite. Then i saw he's trying to play like the old rose....even without a knee brace or pads. With explosive moves on every possession. Similar to me. Over using my first step move going left or right. My hesitation moves. All that pressure ends up somewhere. On top of that. ..you gain weight just due to age. ....puts even more pressure on your joints.
I said he's going to get hurt again. ...i said the same about westbrook. ..but those trades saved him. ...he doesn't have to do it all anymore.

I still think Westbrook is going to go down again...same with Shump. I hope I'm wrong but I've known to many people who, after that first ACL, MCL or meniscus, are never the same and just keep re-injuring it or developing other knee problems.

Got it.
Chicago is in a tough spot right now.
Reinvest in Butler like TPercy suggested or have a fire sale.
The media and fans on here blasted Melo for not signing with 'dead cert' championship contenders the Bulls, they said he was stupid to take money from the Knicks rather than sacrifice for championship contender the Chicago Bulls. Had he listened to you and them he'd have lost money AND had no shot at championship. Anyone who didn't see the Rose breakdown was deluding themselves, it's a real shame for him and the league.
I wonder if this makes Jimmy Butler more available this offseason. The Bulls said they'd go into the luxury tax for a CONTENDING team- without Rose, and with Noah on the decline, and Gasol aging, I'm not sure they are. Plus with the emergence of Snell, and Butler's cooling off these past 2 months, maybe they let Butler walk. I'm really not sure- maybe Roses injury makes them go the other way (they decide they can't afford to lose Butler if Rose is done).
Thought this was another repost. A surgeon was on ESPN and said that if doctors remove part of the meniscus, Rose could be back by the playoffs. I feel bad for anyone who has to fight through recurring injuries.

Last i checked Bulls are still in pretty good shape anyway. They probably made the right move because in order to get melo they would have had to do a sign and trade which would have hurt their depth and draft picks
