Sometimes we are fooled by him being a senior? Were looking for the next big thing but Frank Kaminsky reminds me an awful lot of Paul Gasol with more range? I mean were talking about everyone else--did anyone watch his today? How many 7 footers are that skilled? Hes actually a pretty fluid athlete as well for 7 feet tall. I think he might be drastically under rated by almost everyone--me included.

think he is more of a Shawn Bradley with legit 3pt range, though he probably needs to add a bit more strength and would be a very poor defender versus the PnR with his lack of mobility/athleticism

Shawn Bradley was a 7-6 C? Kaminsky handles the ball like a guard he's also a great passer post player solid rebounder defender and a pretty fair athlete.

Watched the game only to see what he looked like.

Seems to have a lot of things he can do on offense, although I don't know how good the defenders he played against were.

Superior shooter from outside, where he seemed to set up a lot. He did go into the post and had a number of excellent moves which resulted in scores, but I can't tell from this game how strong he is and whether he would be outmuscled in the NBA. You also have to wonder about his quickness on both ends of the court.

One of the draft sites talked about him being a perfect player in the Triangle, and I can believe it. Good outside shooter and good passer.

I did see some problems with him as a defender, and saw very little lateral movement. One time he was beat down low VERY easily, but recovered to bother the guy's shot. In the NBA the guy would have done a reverse dunk on that same play.

The guy has improved each year, and you have the feeling that he would put on the extra strength needed for the NBA, but if I was a GM I would have to see some defensive quickness in workouts.

Is he strong enough and provide you with the kind of defensive presence to be a 5 and does he have the quickness to be a 4? I am assuming that Anthony is going to have more and more trouble guarding 3s, and maybe even getting by some of them on offense. Having Kaminsky at 5 and Anthony at 4 would not be something I would want.

He has, from what I have seen so far, more skills than Portis, who had some moments against KU, but never asserted himself. You can be pretty sure though, that Portis will be able to guard his position.

Tough guy to figure out in terms of what he can do in the NBA, especially on the defensive end. On offense, if you have a good defender at center, he would be a nice stretch 4, who might be able to play center occasionally.

The real question as it relates to comparisons, is Kaminsky like P. Gasol or is he like (don't scream) Bargnani, in certain ways?

Kaminsky reminds me of spencer hawes.

Good comparison.... and Spencer hawes as our center would be fantastic

the defense needs work so it's hard to say if the offense is good enough for him to be a starter...

someone with his touch could make for a deadly pick n roll match like channing frye was used... kaminsky's a little better...

pau gasol is a stretch tho...

remember you can only compare him to other white 7 footers.

Ok well he reminds me of Sam Dalembert without the defense, Haitian accent but a way better jumpshot.

I watched him and he's a great college player. I don't think he'll look nearly as good against NBA guys with athleticism. I would rather draft Kamensky in the second half of the first round than reach for Towns at the top though

Thats a false statement....his defense is solid. Thats the one thing i looked at when i first saw him. Light years ahead of OK4 on defense. I see more Pau Gasol than Spencer Hawes. And if i had to put my money on who will impact the nba more as a rookie playing with Melo between him and OK4....i would say him because he plays both sides and doesnt have to be in the paint to score but he can. He has the effort, latteral quickness and strength to be a good shot blocker and help defender....which is what we need. With OK4 as an example.....players go to the hole like hes not even there.

Keep in mind i didnt see his last game and he might have had a bad matchup on defense. But the game i saw and listened to the college experts....he has more potential to be a defender like Pau Gasol with the occasional block and a solid rebounder. Hes a low risk pick that will either be a star or a solid rotation player with the maturity to fit into the triangle system. He has skills like a 4 and can be a stretch 5. Hes on my sleeper list as most seniors are with everybody looking at freshmens and international players.

Like a 4-5 year vet? If this guy is like Gasol, then that means he has hall of fame talent potential, does he really have that?

I like the enthusiasm though.

A couple of years ago the Knicks didnt even have Vucevic on their draft board let alone try to move up 1-2 spots for him. They had Chris Singelton and Iman Shumpert as their targets--just mildly off the mark there. I mean think about that they had Singleton rated higher than Vucevic.

Here is something that I have learned a long time ago---7 footer with skills are a rare breed. It is obvious that he has in out offensive potential he might be an inch shorter than gasol(my guess is 6-11.5 to 7-0.5) with with a mildly smaller wingspan but he'll be hard guard especially when he gets up to 250 or so. I don't know who I can compare his skills to--hes very skilled. Not many players like him

Also the Knicks have no chance to draft Kaminsky--he will go way to high 7-13--it "should" be lower than we pick yet much much higher than we can possibly look at as a second asset. He'd be a nice get for the Suns.

I was going to say that. He basically is a better version of Bargs. He can move really good for his size and score from everywhere. My bet is that Phil loves Kaminsky!!! Why wouldn't he given how they like Bargs game for this team. Kaminsky is even better.

draftexpress has a nice Kaminsky vs. OK4 video and breaksdown their matchup quite nicely.

I'm a big fan but we would have to end up with our pick being at 8 or later for me to think he'd be worth it for us to take him. He's got skills for sure but can he defend in the paint good enough for us to pick him?

Did Pau Gasol have hall of fame talent when he was drafted? Im not understanding your point. The draft is all about potential since nobody actually played in the nba. Not sure how anybody in nba history had hall of fame talent without playing a single nba game.

But to help vision his potential ceiling...its easier to compare him to nba players just to get a feel for his nba potential. Now i could be wrong....but i played at a high level....with nba players. Ive watched basketball players develop. So this is just my perspective. I know every draft there are players that are over looked. My excitement is trying to predict players performance at the nba level... With this guy....ive actually watched him b4 most people said anything about him. I think hes a safe pick....But we need a second pick to get him.

It's real easy to sit here now after the fact and laugh that we had Singleton and Shump rated higher than Vucevic because all anyone had to go on is what they did in college and there's no way to predict how any player will adjust their game to the NBA so it's not fair to do now that we've seen what they have done. So you're obviously a Kaminsky fan and so am I but tell me which players you put above him in this draft for the Knicks?
