For any NY Jet fans like me out there this is a huge deal.
Man they weren't playing around this time. Woody put on the full court press and emptied the vault!!!
He wanted $16mil per last year right? He got $14mil per
If Woody would've sucked it up last year Rex might still be coaching.
Anyway should be a great year for both the Giants & the Jets. Too bad its looking like Geno will be the quarterback again. I really thought they'd be able to trade for Foles. Young semi proven QB with upside. They will probably sign Fitzpatrick now to compete with Geno. Blahhhh

Don't be so sure. The Jets aren't done. Mac n Bowles are VERY aggressive and they still have moves to make, PLUS THE DRAFT!!!
Rex & Idzik really stuck it to the Jets by winning those meaningless game late in the year. Not crazy about Mariota but he would excite the fanbase. Heck they could've had Winston if they understood the importance of tanking. Especially since you haven't won in 46yrs

Yeah I was pretty ticked off when Rex won those games. Talk about sticking it to your former team. Still one thing Idzik did was not spend money which actually was a blessing in disguise cuz this regime might just spend the money better than they would have.
Yea its hard to find a GM as clueless in terms of making football decisions as John Idzik. At least Tannebaum, originally theJets capologist, had an eye for defensive and o-line talent and worked well with Mangini. We will never know what possessed Woody to hire Idzik who's role in building the Seahawks is highly quesionable. That was all Carroll & Schneider

I was an Idzik defender early on, but what the heck was he thinking with that Draft? He wasted a great opportunity IMO. All those picks and he seemed to have no sense of what he wanted to do. Hopefully some of those guys pan out.

In the words of Mike Tyson,"I'm ecstatic!!!"
They brought in core pros. They need to upgrade QB add some speed on the D and more talent to the offensive line
They added Seattle's James Carpenter for the O-Line
Mac n Bowles are not playing around. They're trying their best to make MASSIVE improvements. They haven't gotten everyone they wanted but they have done very well so far.
unfortunately for them Buffalo & Miami improved and the Pats are the Pats. The AFC was extremely vulnerable last year. They should of went all out in free agency and brought in a legitimate QB

I'm actually not that worried about the Bills and Phins. I think when Mac n Bowles are done this team will be right there with both teams and the Pats. The Jets Front 7 is gonna be MONSTER next year with secondary support. As for QB we can't really do anything about that except to bring in A Ryan Fitzpatrick, draft a QB and try to see if Geno can be developed in his 3rd year. They can still continue to add players and I fully expect that they will.

Which QB was available in FA???
Also Woody wanted Revis back last yr- Idzik talked him out of it- Woody would have spent the money. Do you even follow the Jets?

The problem with Idzik is he doesn't know talent. He's a money guy. Really messed up last yrs draft. Best wr class ever and he didn't get one. This gm now was a scout and knows talent.
This is just the most exciting off season I can remember and it's not even done yet!!! All Jets fans should be ecstatic right now. Any more good moves and I may faint. Then we've got the Draft too!!!
It looks like Cromartie is going to sign today. Also John Clayton reported that the Redskins will pick Mariota if he's available at the 5th pick. Im glad Geno played well in the last game but if they lost Jets would be picking 4th. Should have played Matt Simms and rested most of regulars. Jets need upgrade at LB

That was Rex and his staff trying to stick it to the Jets cuz they knew they weren't coming back. No reason at all to win that last game.
Sounds like the Jets will trade for Fitzpatrick. I think that's a decent move. We can't expect miracles at QB. Gotta hope Geno progresses in his 3rd year or Fitzpatrick comes in and plays well. The D will be improved and the offensive weapons will be improved as well.
