Knicks · What big man in free agency can we get that is superior to Okafor Towns? Heck even Portis and Kaminsky (page 1)
even around the nBA when you put Okafor at 4 who in the NBA has the power to stop him? Hes 10-40 pounds bigger than everyone. He physically move players easily and then he has nimble feet. When he gets down the 12 footer face up it will be a cat who gets 25-28 points a night.
IF you meant obtaining a free agent that has more than a 50% plausibilty of us getting then idk
Balias even said Plummley is better than OK4 on defense....Duke just cant afford to lose his offense. But in the nba he will ride the bench if he doesnt improve his defense and free throws. If hes not scoring hes not impacting the game. We already have a player like that.

I think if he doesnt find a decent trade...hes picking Towns over OK4. Not sure what Sac can offer. What pick do they have? Any vets we could use?

Knicks will trade the pick for Cousins
TPercy wrote:There is no way that Sacremento would trade Cousins for that pick. Cousins is a top 3 center in the NBA what more could you possibly want?
George Karl wants to mold a young center to play his style of basketball. All signs point to Cousins not very fond of Karl

Even if these so called signs are true they are not just going to take 1 first rounder. Cousins is better then every player on our roster, and its goin to take more that to get him here.

Melo is unstoppable and he puts up the same stats....against grown men. What does that mean if they give up the same points. We talked about this with Melo....now we pick OK4 just so we can say....Man we need more two way players. Everybody is scoring on melo and OK4. At least they cant do Hack a Melo....he actually hits his free throws. There are players in the league with OK4 talent as a post scorer...size has no advantage on offense in the post....just look at zbo and especially tony parker.
But you know where size helps....protecting the rim. OK4 doesnt have thepresences or intincts as a rim protector. Time to let the ego down....i know you are right 99%....this is that 1% where u are wrong. OK4 needs a John Stockton as his PG in Utah system with pop or sloan asthecoach to really see his peak value at the next level. Plus he will not be in games during crunch time.....not shooting 50% Even Shaq was a presence on defense...and hes slow. But hes also 7'1....OK4 is 6'9 and change without shoes....the dude guarding him 1 on 1 was 6'5....let that soak in. With Shaq....that dude wouldve been barbecue chicken.
Give me Towns please.....lets hope everybody is drinking OK4 juice....so towns can fall to us at pick 2.

George Karl favors an uptempo pace, which is the kind of team Ranadieve wanted in the first place when he bought the team. Cousins doesn't fit that mold so expect for him to be made available for the right price. Considering that John Wall 2.0 is available in this draft (Emmanuel Mudiay), I'd have to think that it fits the criteria of being "the right price". I wouldn't be surprised at all to see this happen on draft night.

As I have pointed out to 1969, it dosen't quite balance out. You can't just trade away a top 3 center like that for a first round pick, that is trade rape in the 1st degree.

You can trade away a top 3 center when you're run by a crony like Pete D'Alessandro and an overzealous, arrogant owner like Vivek Ranadieve. Has that duo made any moves that would suggest they know what they are doing? They let a perennial 6th man of the year candidate in Isiah Thomas walk for nothing and drafted Nic Stauskaus over the obvious choice of Noah Vonleh. On top of that, they have an army of overpriced PF's that no one wants and who don't fit. So where there is a Pete D'Alessandro/Ranadieve, there is the potential for "trade rape" to occur.
I think Alex Aijinjca >>> Towns right now and likely for the next season when Towns will be a "rook"
It will take time for Towns to develop a NBA body and get use to the NBA game with a 82 game season, the combination of strength/size/length/speed/athleticism/quickness/skills of NBA BIGS and Guards
While Alex Ainjica looks to finally show the "potential" that was untapped with the development staff of New Orleans who has done a great job with Anthony Davis who has similar skill sets/frame as Aijnica
This is not a knock on Towns, it is a process that takes time to untapp the potential, which is not a given at all, looking at talents like Aijinca and Whiteside as proof
Players/Talents are drafted on "potential" today and with their young age, lack maturity, they need guidance/mentorship with support both on the court and off the court, veterans/coaching staff/development staff/trainers and the willingness to WORK HARD both on the court and in the weight room/gym
With that said, there is the chance that Towns may not reach his ceiling, as he is FAR away from the skills/post abilities that OK4 already has, he knows how to use his body/strength/size to shield his opponent with great foot work and ability to finish with contact, though he will also need to get stronger and get better as well, he is just currently more advanced than Towns
Possibly he will be the better player than Towns first 2 seasons as a NBA pro, look at Andrew Wiggons, who has shown some great games on a pro level with a system that fits his skills with Rubio and BIGS like
Dieng/Pekovic, along with shooters to spread the floor for him, though they will need more so he can get more 1v1 oppourtunities to take full advantage off
Wiggons will eventually take a HUGE luge moving forward, possibly next year or the year after, as he has GREAT all round skills including his phyisical abilities, though he will have to add some weight/stregnth to his frame, without losing much mobility/athleticism/speed/quickness, just like Durant did who was WEAK in terms of strength but never played "WEAK" on the court, with that said, strength can be over rated and missued in anaylyzing talent for NBA players with lifting weights as ameasure of strength in the NBA game
More importantly, his length/athleticism/speed/quickness is more important than strength, allowing him to be a future lock down player potential and versatile team defender
He has a pretty good shot and the mechanics as well, if he is able to get a better shot like Durant did, it will open his game up, making him unguardable 1v1 with his range/ability to blow pass his man if the defender moves up....
I would happy with a TOP 3 pick, whether it is OK4, Towns, Russell, and if we can make moves to get more picks like moving CA for another 1st and young talent, 2nd round picks *especially high 2nd rounders, making Houston an Ideal trade for both teams and CA's contract, as Houston also owns our 2nd rounder this summer and next year* Add in DMO, Terrence Jones, and/or other talents like Brewer/KJ McDaniels, Koustas Pap *has 5m unguaranteed contracct*, and other players just to match salaries with the 150% rule, possibly with Beverely in a sign and trade or even Jason Terry just to match salaries with only first year guaranteed and other years non guaranteed, as a trade must be a 3year contract for a sign and trade just like Q Rich was traded to Raptors
Now if we are able to get another 1st rounder like David Lee for their pick *they can trade the player drafted by not the pick, on draft day, and that doesn't even guarantee that they will be able to keep Draymond Green
Add in possible 2 poison pills, with players worthy of such deals, the way Asik/Lin's were structured, with Middleton/Draymond Green, with the salary about
5m (next season)
5m (in 2017 with the rise of the cap of about 20m and likely another amensty clause to use(
15m so it doesn't affect our ability to sign/trade talents in the first 2years making it an ideal and realistic attempt to acquire young talent
With the rest of the cap space, we can hope to be able to sign Alex Aijinca
Sign Thanasis to a 3year deal, which would need us to use cap space or exemptions like MLE in order to get 3year deals to even 4years to avoid poison pills with only 2year available if we payed his salary acording to his pick

finding the next Whiteside/Aijinca, Livingston, James Johnson, Brandon Wright, Gereld Green, Anthony Morrow, as the D League has improved greatly these past couple of years, probably doing a better job in preparing young NBA talents to develop/adjust to the NBA game better than the NCAA versus REAL NBA MEN without the huge mismatches NCAA has
Justin Holiday G/F and his development this year, will be a RFA next summer, GREAT LENGTH/ATHLETICSM and a LEGIT NBA 3pter now, assuming they pick up his team option, possibly could be the cheaper option of some of their veterans with his improvements
James Michael McAdoo - I believe he only signed a 1year deal with GS unlike Justin Holiday, who I compared to as a better young Jared Jeffries *the 2nd time around* that is much better on OFFENSE and the ability to still improve, with the fundamentals and BB IQ to play good team defense/rebound and do the intangibles that JJ's did when Jeremy Lin played with him, who really improved our defense with his mobility and ability to defend multiple positions, had a decent shot, set great picks and rolls, rebounded/boxed out, and could run the floor effectively and finish which JJ had trouble doing
Millsap G/F think Utah has him locked up with team options but if they release him, if acquiring him would allow us to sign Paul Millsap, we should def consider such a move
Seth Curry PG/SG
Quincy Miller - has great length/athelticism, he is a SF but his physical abilities allow him to defend versatile postions including SG/PF *as a stretch PF*, and on PG's on switches for PnR's
----------
There are also other undrafted players like Jamalle Haggins, and other talents but here are some of my evaluations for CHEAP options so we can concentrate on upgrading other positions/talents as for many of these players we would have the leverage to offer them 2-3year deals on vet minimum, with unguaranteed contracts, so in 2017 we can possibly sign/acquire 2-3 ALL STAR *possibly more* talents *depending if we can trade CA* and maybe some 3rd tier/solid role players like
Wilson Chandler
Battum *who is having a bad year with his shooting wrist*

Randy Foye

David West/Roy Hibbert and Brook Lopez all have player options this summer, if they opt in, they could likley choose who they want to team up with, with the talent and rise of the cap in 2017 to take full advantage of
Veterans being in 2017, of course will be older, but if we can acquire any of these talents on for the vet min to join the ride if we can actually put together a dominant Championship team
