Okafor seems to get winded easily for a guy who doesn't rebound enough.
TPercy @ 3/20/2015 8:13 PM
Was at murrland game, was fun.
gunsnewing @ 3/20/2015 8:16 PM
Exactly. nothing raw about Towns. Even back in high school. Took him a few games to adjust to playing college basketball for a powerhouse like Kentucky

JrZyHuStLa wrote:By watching both Okafor and Towns yesterday and today, they've displayed everything they're each known for.

Okafor displaying the better polish, footwork and really well utilizing Duke's spacing.

Towns displaying the rebounding, shot blocking and passing. He's got pretty good footwork as well. I've read that he's "raw" according to some of you on this forum, and he is anything but.

Raw is Hasheem Thabeet making the transition from Uconn to the NBA. You can't be a finesse big man like Towns and be called raw.

Towns is raw in the post. You have to take into account that there are high school teams with frintlines larger than Hampton. That said, Towns did display the athleticism and mobility that has all the scouts excited.

I get what you're saying, but again raw just isn't the word. His post game is slightly to moderately under developed, but he's shows flashes with the hook shot and has good court vision in the paint. To me, raw is better reserved for projects like Petro and Thabeet where the post game is completely non existent.

Calling a guy with a good shooting touch raw in the post just sounds odd.

It's not just the shooting touch, but it's the ability to hold position, feel the double team coming etc. There are some guys like Tim Duncan, Al Jefferson etc. who are so polished in the post that they can score on anybody once they hit their spots. Then there's like Amare early in his career or a Jaokim Noah who can score down there, but only because they're bigger or more athletic than their defender. I think Towns is tall and athletic enough to score over most college guys, but I'm not sure if his post game is tight enough to score efficiently against legit NBA defenders...yet.

BigDaddyG @ 3/20/2015 9:53 PM
I can see Sam Decker carving out a career as a Robert Horry-esque combo forward in the league. I didn't see it last year, but he's made improvements in his game.
yellowboy90 @ 3/20/2015 10:39 PM
I could easily see Towns come in scoring like Gorgui Dieng and playing defense like Noel. He is bigger than both and as athletic so he might be a better defender.
holfresh @ 3/21/2015 1:16 PM
Barkley dissing the Knicks during NCAA telecast..Hilarious..
TPercy @ 3/21/2015 3:30 PM
Towns has been pissing me off ever since he came back from timeout, nonexistent defense and not being agressive enough.
TPercy @ 3/21/2015 3:32 PM
Nice Booker
TPercy @ 3/21/2015 3:33 PM
STEIN!!!!!!!!!!!!
TPercy @ 3/21/2015 3:39 PM
If only Phil could get us both Stein and Towns, Our frontcourt would be set.

yeah he has a tendency to be invisible sometimes. Personally i want russell more than anybody. He plays on a weaker team yet he still is a beast

He came back at the end though by dishing 3 dimes I'd be happy with either of the 3

TPercy @ 3/21/2015 4:10 PM
Booker is struggling to shoot the 3 this game, usually makes them.
TPercy @ 3/21/2015 4:20 PM
two nice drives from booker and good post work forom Stein.

I somewhat agree, I also think that Kentucky need to utilize their big men better

TPercy @ 3/21/2015 4:37 PM
Nice block from towns
JrZyHuStLa @ 3/21/2015 4:45 PM
He doesn't get as many post opportunities as he should.
