He's not an ideal fit alongside Carmelo - very offensive skill biased. At his best he's as much the impact player Melo is. But he's a willing & deft passer, can score from everywhere (including beyond the arc), and he's among the league's very elite rebounders.

I would take Love over Monroe in a heart beat but he will be much more expensive.
On offense, he is the perfect Triangle guy.
I predict he will sign in NY or LAL.

Blake is slipping for one reason. The dude decided to start shoot a ton more long 2's which is mind boggling. Aside from that, he is an EXCELLENT player! He just needs to cut that crap out and his efficient would fly up.

DJ would be a great get. He also can't do anything but dunk and does not stretch the floor but you love those guys

I worry about Stein size on this level to start out his career. Plus he would clog the lane at times like Tyson did. Although, it could work because the real killer of Tyson/Melo/Stat was the cost and zero cap flexibility. Stein on a rookie deal plus the new Cap space in 16 will give the Knicks actual money to get the pieces to put the roster over the top.

I shouldn't say size but I don't think he will be able to match NBA bigs strength as a rookie. It's going to take him some time just like it did for him to round out his game as a collegiate player. I think Towns can come in now and because of his offensive skill fit better. Stein is an okay fit and maybe by year two he'll be okay. Bigs usually take some time unless they are of the elites. I see Stein in the Mason Plumlee mold. He is a better defender though.

Griffin is a horrible fit for cleveland.
I would not be sad if we got love though I find it to be a very expensive risk. He is being marginalized in cleveland and he would shine in the triangle. He is also not a clog for melo and they actually compliment each others game. Defensively it can be a very big problem.
Yeah, defensively is where it would be a problem even though they are both capable defenders they are not consistent enough. Love has some good numbers this year I believe. Towns would be a most for me to even consider it though.
how about a front line of Stein Love and Melo? I could live with that.
I worry about Stein size on this level to start out his career. Plus he would clog the lane at times like Tyson did. Although, it could work because the real killer of Tyson/Melo/Stat was the cost and zero cap flexibility. Stein on a rookie deal plus the new Cap space in 16 will give the Knicks actual money to get the pieces to put the roster over the top.
you have two stretch forwards who can post and one big time defender and shot blocker. I think its a great fit.
what is your issue with his size?
I shouldn't say size but I don't think he will be able to match NBA bigs strength as a rookie. It's going to take him some time just like it did for him to round out his game as a collegiate player. I think Towns can come in now and because of his offensive skill fit better. Stein is an okay fit and maybe by year two he'll be okay. Bigs usually take some time unless they are of the elites. I see Stein in the Mason Plumlee mold. He is a better defender though.

The Knicks trading for a no longer explosive Blake is one of my other fears.
Blake is slipping for one reason. The dude decided to start shoot a ton more long 2's which is mind boggling. Aside from that, he is an EXCELLENT player! He just needs to cut that crap out and his efficient would fly up.
His passing this year is from the best that I have seen by a PF.
I doubt Griffin would want to stay in Cleveland and sacrifice so much. He would basically be a duplicate of Thompson. He isn't the best defender and the pass ability which would normally be an asset would go on use because Lebron and Kyrie are ball dominate players. Plus he doesn't stretch the floor and would clog up the lane.
Re Love:
Love would not be my favorite option but that has more to do with how much cap he would take up. I know some people like to point to a pairing of Melo-Love would be similar to Stat/Melo but Love game is a lot different offensively so while not the best fit it would work better. Love comes in with a low post game and shooting ability to stretch the floor. This means that Melo and Love could take turns going inside and outside. When Melo would post up Amar'e man would just cheat over to Melo just like Felton's, Tyson, an Shump man would cheat. The real important piece to create the synergy that Melo-Love would need is Towns. He would really create a Harmonious Front court because of his shooting ability something Tyson did not have
Another key is moving Calderon to get Danny Green, Cory Joseph, or other players to get some defensive players to surround Love and Melo.

When you bring in Love you want a win now culture plus you need to create an actual winning mentality to grow on for future season and to gain respect among potential FA. I want a win now/win later/ Carmelo mentality.
If we got Love, would you prefer we'd drafted Russell or Towns? We'd only have about 7mil left to fill out the roster remember.
I want Towns and Love, and also sign Danny Green.
