Would you trade the top pick to OKC for Durant? Personally, I would not do such a trade;specifically the foot injuries currently on the news about this kid. I would much rather offer that pick for Westbrook.

The foot injury is a problem dude......I would trade Melo for Durant
It's not that I wouldn't love having KD, but the Draft pick is our own player who as others pointed out will be cheap for years and that impacts our ability to be competitive for years to come. It's just a overall better value and way to build a team. We'd still have a shot at KD down the line so why waste an asset for no reason?

Francesa is not stupid enough to suggest that. He is on board with keeping our pick.

I think "true fans" are more fascinated with the whole drafting players process than actual nba winning basketball players..

Westbrook was one of my favorite players coming out of that draft and still is. I admit he's got a hero ball MElo like dopey streak in him, but he's one of the few guys in the world who can take over NBA games and carry a team for weeks at a time.
That being said I firmly believe Russell ends up a better player. And we get him cheap for first 8 years. He's so beyond these college players. Today will be really interesting because they will be throwing 2-3 NBA caliber defenders at him everytime he touches the ball.
I know a big would be nice to build around but we can accomplish a lot in FA there. Russell is the one who makes everyone better and plays the right way
