Knicks · OT: LJ Alleged Deadbeat Dad To FOUR Baby Mamas (page 1)

stopstandthere @ 3/28/2015 6:35 AM
This might be a record ... but former NBA star Larry Johnson has been accused of being a deadbeat dad ... BY FOUR WOMEN AT THE SAME TIME ... TMZ Sports has learned.

Johnson wasn't just a stud on the court ... but the 46-year-old apparently lived up to his last name in the bedroom as well, siring 5 kids with 4 different women over the years.

It gets worse ... Johnson, the #1 overall pick in the 1991 NBA Draft, filed for bankruptcy in California earlier this month ... claiming he's racked up more than $300k in debts.

A chunk of those debts, according to the docs, are owed to the 4 baby mamas -- who claim LJ owes more than $120k in unpaid child support payments.

So, where'd all that Grandmama money go? We reached out to LJ for comment -- so far, no word back.

This is old, old news- first broken during the playoffs in 1999 I think, because I remember bill Walton laying into him. A 16 year old story- who cares?

Yep. Also, whatever happened to Walton. I know many didn't like his commentary but I always enjoyed him. He had a broadcast partner that was like third string for nbc games that strongly disagreed with almost everything he said. The other guy was a bit bland but when paired up with Walton was very enjoyable. The guy had a nickname like 'snapper' or something.

Perhaps because it is a fitting closure to one man's lack of responsibility and an exemplary warning to those who may admire how he's lived his life. He's not the only person who has done this kind of thing, but as a sports celebrity, he becomes a good example of how not to behave, and maybe his case serves as a cautionary tale to some folks.

Actions have consequences, and mistakes have a way of catching up to you eventually.

I'm not some kind of religious moralist, but I believe in being responsible, and in Johnson's case, the chickens have surely come home to roost.

LJ's an idiot for allowing himself to be put in that spot but what does this say about a kind of culture that exists among certain women? Let's be honest, they could've just as easily used birth control, demanded he use a condom or had an abortion to be free of a future "dead beat Dad". But they didn't.....You think the situation would've been a bit different if Larry wasn't former NBA superstar millionaire? I think so.

Fair point... but shouldn't LJ have known what HE was "getting into," so to speak.

And would HE have gotten all the women he did without the money he had?

Was he married during this, by the way?

Works both ways. Perhaps he should have gotten a vasectomy.

There is pre-sex judgement and then there is post-sex judgement- unfortunately we all know they are usually miles apart!

I completely agree that LJ exercised piss poor judgement in that arena. But in this man-bashing atmosphere we live in, women continually get a pass for falling short of being decent human beings. Just after LJ's "Deadbeat Dad" title should be one characterizing his baby mama's as "good looking whores who use their physical beauty and vagina's to mooch on another human being's success and talent, while failing to have the work ethic or initiative to develop skills to provide for themselves or assist in the upbringing of their children". I'm not excusing LJ of his actions but.... I'm just saying.....

I have read its not all true. He is bankrupt and if owned money they can make a claim.
So the papers call it "deadbeat". I have read he has good relationships with most of the women.

Bill Walton was out of line quote:
"What a pathetic performance by this sad human being. This is a disgrace to the game of basketball and to the NBA. He played like a disgrace tonight. And he deserved it." Walton was speaking about Larry Johnson.

Why called him a "Sad human being" for his out of wedlock sperm surge which had no place to be in calling a game. Walton was a pompous obnoxious ass. I could not stand him. Great player.

Larry plowed thru his money and his children's guardians are making claims. "Deadbeat"? I don't think we have seen all the information. Maybe he has paid partial, but still a claim against him?

Sucks to have lost so much money. Things can be worse. Ask Mase's family. Hopefully he still has some ability to make good and be ok.
