He will drain 18 footers all day in the NBA forcing those guys to go out and guard him clearing the paint for Melo & Monroe.

You haven't seen everything Towns is capable of yet in college where he towers over everyone and doesn't need to step outside the paint

Nope, He will be a PnR Big that will rim run most of the time but he will get more pick and pop opportunities. He'll probably get some pump n drives too if he shot is falling. He has a very good jumper.

Calipari needs to green light towns on those Jumpers and put lyles in the post.
Knicks1969 @ 3/28/2015 10:14 PM
Towns needs to demand the ball a lot more

Also, Towns post move is basic right now which is okay but that power chicken wing bully ball won't work early on in the nba.

Can they play together?

That is a very good question. They both play well without the ball but are great passers once the ball is in there hand. If Russell got stronger and focused on D then maybe. I think Grant can play D but he needs to improve his rebounding. They both like to jump passing lanes. I think they could under the right circumstances because Russell is a great spot up shooter. I think it would be similar although their games are different as Parker/Ginobli playing together or Kyrie/Lebron or Wade/Lebron, or Wall/Beal. Basically you play Small ball but with two large Combo Guards.

That match has certainly intrigued me and I tried to project how it would work in the pros. Both guys are pretty good at moving without the ball and both guys are good/great shooters, like you said, so I definitely see it working. I just wonder if they'll impede each others' growth because of how similar their games/positions are.

Also don't forget Towns shoots 80% from the line. He will be one of the Best FT shooting bigs in the nba
gunsnewing @ 3/28/2015 10:16 PM
Too damn easy
gunsnewing @ 3/28/2015 10:18 PM
Kentucky will lose if they don't go inside to Towns every possession. ND is too small.

KU clearly needs Towns. The idea that Towns and KU can afford to have him foul out is ludicrous. Towns is clearly KU's most important player.

As I type this 3 fouls for Towns now. KU in trouble

Knicks1969 @ 3/28/2015 10:19 PM
Auguste is outplaying Kentucky's trees

you havent watched towns untill this tourney, be quiet.

Sorry if I offended your delicate sensitivities.

Auguste is certainly too small to play as Center, but so is Towns currently.
TPercy @ 3/28/2015 10:20 PM
Towns has 16 pts btw

Your KUs are throwing me off because I think of Kansas University and not University of Kentucky. I am not trying to nit pick though.

6'11...?

gunsnewing @ 3/28/2015 10:22 PM
KU getting bounced is not the worst thing if it gets Towns off of peoples radar some. Hopefully Phil feels he's seen enough of Towns to take him #1.

Dakari Johnson REALLY needs to stay in college and work on that post game

I was being a bit of a smart ass. He's got so much love on this board and I just wanted to needle you guys. But I still struggle to see this guy living up to the hype. Even defensively, I don't see him being the force people claim. With Stein out of the game, it's been a layup drill in this game. Granted, much of it is caused by shitty perimeter D, I feel like he still should've been able to better contest those penetrations. Let's also not forget that Auguste is also abusing him.

They all should with the exception of Towns/Stein. They can be picked higher in the future

Is that worth a top 3 pick with two dynamic players like Okafor and Russell available?

Towns is the only guy who can shoot FT's in college. Unbelievable
