Knicks · You are all sleeping on Kaminsky and Decker (page 2)

Where is Decker projected? Any chance he lasts until 2nd round where we could take him?

That could change, you never know....It would be smart for Phil to try and obtain a couple because this is one deep of a draft.

I would say his stock is rising at this point... and there is no way in hell he makes it into the second round.

If he holds up well vs the size of Kentucky, I think he pushes himself into the low teens if he comes out this year, and if he really blows a team away in the workouts and shines the rest of the way, who knows where he gets drafted. DraftExpress has him at 16, now.

I can definitely see teams like San Antonio or Atlanta taking him if they have a chance (which is doubtful, at this point).

Guy like him can do much more than they show in their system offense. Winslow is the same way. You get glimpses of what they can do, but they usually don't pile up the crazy numbers because they are team oriented guys. I think this is why both of them have moved up draft boards since the beginning of the year.

I've been intrigued by Dekker since I saw him earlier in the year when I decided to look at Kaminsky. He's just a baller who knows the game and can do a lot of things to help a team.

Not sure how a team would not take him over an overrated player like Stanley Johnson, whose draft value really dropped in my opinion, and Johnson always seems to be an early round prospect. DraftExpress has dropped him to 9, at this point, which may be high. Putting him ahead of Kaminsky is puzzling.

Would love to have him on the Knicks if Jackson could pick up another 1st.

BRIGGS @ 3/30/2015 1:30 PM
The one thing with Kaminsky--is it is POSSIBLE wit the Knicks in "win now mode" that he could be a sleeper pick if we slide to 4 or with a slight trade down. I think Kaminsky's in play 5 down to 10 at worst.

No Bargs... but Channing Frye is possible. A big who can stroke it and do some good things. Nice bench player etc.. you don't want him as your starting center or PF though

He has a chance to enhance his draft status with a good game against a Kentucky team with that length.

I wonder how UK will defend Wisky. Will Stein guard Dekker or Kaminsky
Knicks1969 @ 3/31/2015 10:16 AM
If we were to have the first pick and Philly makes us an offer for whoever we select, we MUST consider making a deal. I hope and pray Philly ends up with the forth or fith pick; that would force them to want to deal. Philly and Boston are our link to a fruitful decade.
Knicks1969 @ 4/6/2015 9:31 PM
Kaminski can actually put the ball on the deck and drive it
DJMUSIC @ 4/8/2015 9:39 PM
Knicks1969 wrote:These two kids can flat out ball. I believe the team that is smart enough to use multiple picks to draft those two players will come out the winner in this draft. If Philly or Boston is smart enough, instead of aiming for Towns, Okafor, or Russell, one should look to draft those two players

Decker (shoot, get his own shot) will have more quicker impact on right team than Kaminsky.
Both can play 2way game

But Kaminisky is a Warriors Bogut type I still think don't have all of Bogut skills he will come into NBA get banged around and IL list,

None of these guys will go before the main top 1-5

blkexec @ 4/8/2015 10:49 PM
I dont mind being the minority on things.....my ego equals phil.

Just because we finally have a top pick....doesn't mean we should keep it. This is not the lebron draft or any of the top drafts in the past. Ok4 and towns are 1 and 2 by DEFAULT. This draft will stock the nba for years to come....with ROLL PLAYERS.. Remember all of these guys. These guys are collectively the best group of future nba roll players.....but as always we are over rating them like its filled with hall of fame talent like crack heads searching for a pipe.....

For example....if we had a sophmore rule where you had to play 2 yrs of college ball.....or two years over seas.....before going into the nba......this draft would look totally different next year. Thats the problem when drafting on potential only. 40 games in college is not enough to gage who will impact the nba against grown men making millions. Against the best basketball talent in the world. Athletes that make Towns look average. Ok4 is legit.....you can see he will be a dominate low post scorer.....town has the highest ceiling and the biggest bust potential for a #1 pick. Russell is legit....at best he will be what you see.....a sharp shooter who can pass.....that might be it. But if might be all he needs. Winslow is your everything glue guy. What if Mudiay stayed in china.....and started putting up crazy west brook stats......he would be a lock for the #1 pick next year.....right now hes going 5th or 6th.

Kaminsky and decker together are not better than lebron or duncan or any of the past top draft picks..but are they better than ok4 or towns.....maybe.....depending on your system. But i can find several combination of players in the first round that are better than any 1 player in this entire draft.

Russell and winslow comes to mind for me.....trade ok4 or towns for russell and winslow (if possible of course) but this is just an example of my ranking.....phil has his own triangle measuring ranking where kaminsky and decker might be high on his list.

We can play this game all day.....Kaminsky and whoever briggs picks from overseas would be better than just having ok4 or towns....at least it would be list risky..... To me none of these freshmens are ready for the big stage....Frye would be a top 5 pick in this draft.....that should tell you something. Dont fall into the trap of We Finally Go A Top Pick.....there are no patrick ewings in this draft.....Ewing was equivalent to ok4 and towns put together.....The dream was 1st....then jordan.....these guys had at least 2or 3 yrs of college experience. ...nobody compares to them.....you have a better feel for what you draft....after a few yrs in college......thats why i like Kaminsky. ....he is who he is.....and he will only get stronger and better. But even right now...hes solid. Buf these freshmens.....you never know. Towns could be like kwami brown.....ok4 could be like sweetney. This draft is very....very.....deep. but with the top 10 or more as freshmens......it also has the most bust potential.

DJMUSIC @ 4/8/2015 11:27 PM
Whole league/NBA is very young now.. its stars and superstars

I was I believe one of very few that when Russell Westbrook came out of UCLA
was gonna big NEXT BIG Thing and wasn't even top 1-2 pick

I wished NY had a smidgen of a shot at Russell, ...

He is example of you take the good and bad with some of these NBA youths
Westbrook an immediate success with his early OKC up & downs.

back to this draft of course its gonna take some time,
of course their will be 1 or 2 surprise busts as they will be sleepers whom we
all chat on their skills in college.

Of course there isn't any Lebron James types.
With all said I feel confident the Knicks history of messing up drafts WONT HAPPEN
this time!

They will get their needs & we'll have to have patience in big picture

Its all about fit and opportunity for one of sports greatest jobs ever
playing in NBA on big stages whether NY or some other NBA city.

BUSTs wont hopefully affect the Knicks
I feel after watching Phil Jackson FAQ/Q&A ..on MSG with Al Trawtwick and my pal Allan Hahn
we see his comments are on building a structure and their are players in 2015 draft and FAs
here & out of country (hoops) the Knicks are seemingly working hard to assess.

We'll see May 15 draft lotto
keep optimistic Knick fans ! & good forumers abound here.

I am happy about this time , off season for the Knicks. Plenty to do

NBA ? is ok now not great.
Teams in league ? anythime you got a LBJ team 1st yr Cavs' with a small chance to win (Spurs will be crowned again!)
that don't say too much bout rest of the NBA teams going to playoffs.

Aside from 1-3 teams NBA teams don't scare me in this Knick rebuilding project.

A Great! Knick Summer 2015 ahead watch & see!

jrodmc @ 4/9/2015 11:49 AM
Hopefully Bargs continues to play for his NBA life and Phil parlays this waste of height into one (can I dream and say maybe 2?) second rounders.

Dekker, now sitting the bench for your 2015-2016 Knicks...

That is plausible, or we could get lucky like we did with priggs and see if we could obtain one for timmy and acy

yeah ... maybe we can trade one of our sucked dry prospects

How did Frank do against Towns Stein Johnson Lee and Lyles--he did pretty good right---well he wont face tougher opponents defensively in the NBA then all of those guys combined.

thats a very weak correlation.

He will face much better defense / team defenses in the NBA.

Do you think those guys are already good enough to be NBA all defenders? SMH

I think guys like Towns and Stein are already good great defenders. Its to bad Willie Stein is such a sieve on the offense or he would be another choice up top. He wont see more size length that what he saw vs Kentucky for the most part. Guys like Gobert--well thats a different story.
