Knicks · As of today, Towns is the clear number one. Do you agree? (page 1)

I said yes during the regular season. Now I need to see duke vs Kentucky. I didn't see the last duke game but after reading the recap, seems like the best player was Winslow again. Which has been the case most of the season. Not because of his offense, but his ability to play both sides of the court.
Finestrg @ 3/29/2015 9:21 PM
A resounding yes and I don't need to see anymore of either player. If Okafor has a better Tourney the rest of the way, even if he beats Kentucky, outplays Towns head to head and Duke goes on to win it all -- I'm still taking Towns ahead of him. In my book, I've got Towns ahead of Okafor in every category besides interior scoring but I think that will equalize real quick once both hit the NBA (if/when Towns goes to an NBA program that needs more offense out of him than what he's showing now in college -- I think he's fully capable of stepping up and answering that bell). I even think Towns has a legit shot at being an even better offensive player in the NBA than Okafor eventually.

I wonder if after the success Towns just had this past game if he goes up to Cal and says something to him like, "coach, I'm ready. It's my time now. Get me the ball and I'll deliver." Maybe that's all Calipari's been waiting to hear outta the young man. I know if I'm Cal, there's no way I don't go right back to him and look to establish him against Kaminsky next Saturday.

BRIGGS @ 3/29/2015 9:22 PM
Ok4 looked poor his last two games. If you watch early in the season he looked more spry and athletic. He was moving way to slow up and down the court today. Its funny because if Duke went out after SD ST the last impression is very high with a great body of work. I think its fair to say that Towns jumped well ahead of him this weekend --whether its injury(he has a long sleeve on one of his legs fatigue of a freshmen who weighs 275? who had a lot of weight t o carry I'm not sure but his body of work puts him at either 1 or 2. Id say 2 right now.
gunsnewing @ 3/29/2015 9:30 PM
I disagree! OK4(Duncan, karl Malone, Moses malone, Shaq, Wilt, jabbar, Russell, Hakeem) is #1

Still voting for OK4. Towns scored against a shooting guard and an 6'8" undersized center last night, but I don't see him doing that in the pros for a while.

Phil Jackson pal: Knicks need ‘bigger butt’ than Kentucky’s Towns

http://nypost.com/2015/03/29/phil-jackso...

After watching Towns in the NCAA Tournament, Rosen says, “Towns is not a big-enough body. He’d never get that position in the NBA. He doesn’t have enough power or core strength. He wouldn’t be able to set up one dribble away from the basket. He’s not a kind of center you need in the triangle. He’s not physically that type of center, but he’s athletic and does other things. Look how far out (Lou) Amundson, (Jason) Smith and (Andrea) Bargnani get pushed out when they post up, well out of the box.’’
BRIGGS @ 3/29/2015 9:34 PM
Let me also suggets this to anyone .

BOTH Okafor and Towns are 4's NBA POWER FORWARDS they are NOT 5's You can slide Towns to 5 depending on who he plays with but you can clearly see Stein is a couple of inches taller. he plays 4 in College.

gunsnewing @ 3/29/2015 9:35 PM
Honestly I still think ok4 will be good in the NBA and I would have no issue drafting him if Towns is off the board at which point I will cry. His offense will be useful and maybe he gets down to 260. I still think OK4 goes 2 unless philly is picking

What a dumb article. If this guy is praising Admundson and hasnt really seen Ok4 play?????? What the hell does he know ? How can you not see ok4 play all year hes been on 30 times.

winslow looked good. okafor not at all. it's hard to hear through the bill raftery gushing but okafor looked like a lumbering earthbound bear that was shot with a tranquilizer dart.

I thought he was more like a tree stump churning in a sea of pudding.

Towns has been my guy all season but I don't think he's the consensus #1. And, barring injury, I don't think there will be a consensus. If we get the #1 pick I hope we choose Towns but there's still a good case to be made for Okafor.
Splat @ 3/29/2015 9:59 PM
I hope this is not the year a demi-god superstar is picked with the 10th pick, but the more I see and hear about who should be picked in what order the less certain I feel about it.

It is going to be nerve wracking for many fans to not just wait on the draft order and then the pick, but also those first weeks of the season when you get to see what you've got.

Even then, I'd take Towns over OK4 in a heartbeat.

meloshouldgo @ 3/29/2015 10:00 PM
I really want Winslow. I think he will be the biggest impact player - I am sure he will grow another inch or two? His heart and his will to win are there for anyone to see. His skills are up there too and he defends really well. Love this kid.

I like scrappy players. He's scrappy.

nixluva @ 3/29/2015 10:12 PM
Towns is still a bit raw and clumsy at times. He's not very smooth in the post but he can be effective. Really on the other end he's just what we need. That's why I think he's the better prospect for the Knicks. I don't dislike OK4. I just think KAT solves more of the teams problems in one move.

He isn't praising Amundson he is saying he isn't big enough to hold his position.

You cant take anything about someone who hasnt seen Okafor play 1nce seriously. Weve been in position to take pick 1-3 all year and he never watched Ok4? Does he know that Towns is 6-10.5 250 and doctors think he may peak our between 7-1 and 7-2? You cant not follow something than talk about it like you do know--frankly thats a terrible article.

Oh my! BRIGGS has changed his stance on Okafor::))

On the real, both kids are excellent players we could use, but personally, the one player I like the most is Russell.

What really tough offensive players has Towns defended against especially one on one? I am not challenging your statement - just curious if his body work really includes that or not.
