Glad too see you came around to Towns
I still think OK4 is the 1st pick. And if people are going by the Tournament stats then Frank the Tank should be 1st overall right?

I never was down on Towns. Actually i have always said i like him better than okafor, the only other player i like a bit better is russell

Exactly and no way should be be number #1 there are too many factors in college basketball than just stats. Level of competition, system and sound projections based on some stats, eye test projections and improvement are some of the mey factors

Obviously you are the biggest Towns fan in the world

but would you be that pissed if we got Okafor or Russell. I mean all 3 look like the real deal to me
Agreed. No I wouldn't
Towns
Ok4
Mudiay
Russell
Winslow
Stein
Grant
In that order. I will be devastated if we don't get the #1 pick and Towns initially but after the dust settles I will be pretty pumped about seeing any of those guys in Orange & blue

Thats good to hear. Dont get me wrong if i had to choose between towns or okafor i might have to go with towns because his overall game might be better. I do feel Russell isnt getting as much hype mostly because he played on a weak team. Imagine if russell played on a better team like a duke wisconsin or arizona

there we go, agree 100% with your statement bro. i want towns over anyone but I'll be happy with any. the scary part is we are acting like the 1st pick is a forgone conclusion. as we've seen before it's definitely not and then we'll all be devastated

truthfully, I just hope the team lands in the top three... in some ways, I'd prefer that the Knicks have to settle on one of the top guys instead of having the ability to choose and fk it up, just like always
also, guns, I agree with Grant. That guy is going to be good. I know more people know him now than before but he's going to be good
At the end of the day, who is wearing Orange and blue, whom I gonna like.

This kind of team devotion is not allowed here.
Pick someone so that I can belittle you later if that player ends up being a bust.

Yup guys like grant and Winslow help us see the mistakes we made in the past. Actually following these college players all year makes a world of difference. In the past most of us relied on the so called experts, the mock draft sites etc then we wondered why guys came out of no where and had NBA success. Or why did a high pick fail and the guy picked after him succeeded. Most people media included who havent watch are dead set on OK4 and Mudiay because those are the names they heard early on not realizing that other guys have emerged.
There is a lot of depth at the top of this draft
I still do not get how Towns was tested by a shorter skinny player guarding him one on one
The thing to remember about kids like Towns and OK4 etc. is that once the college season is over they will get on pro level training and conditioning programs and will get a bit stronger than they look right now. They usually sharpen up their skills as well. Then of course they continue to get work on their bodies and skills. Towns is in fact not as strong as he needs to be. His legs and hips are not particularly strong. His moves are sometimes a bit rough. OK4 really needs to improve his conditioning and trim a little of the fat and replace it with more muscle. He's gotta work on his face up game and his FT shooting. Both players should be excellent pros.
If I had another pick i'd love to grab Winslow. I think he's just another version of Jimmy Butler. Defense, hustle and great BB instincts. He's always in the right place and making the right play.
Look for Phil to put out smokescreens incase ok4 goes first and Towns slips to us. I don't think the knicks are I'll broadcast their love of Towns the way they did Stephen Curry

He put the team on his back. He was going against a very good player who will be a 1st rd pick and is 1'' shorter. You still have to make shots and towns made all of them
BRIGGS wrote:"The only thing that set him back was the injury in the first North Carolina game (Feb. 18). That stopped some of his growth because he's had to compensate. Since then, he's pretty much played at less than 100 percent."The nagging ankle problem limited Okafor's mobility and hindered his play, particularly on the defensive end.

He's playing hurt.
you can't blame injury on each failure of the players the you tout
Ankle injuries heal enough to play in 2 days. It's been 2 months! It wasn't a high ankle sprain because he didn't miss any games
nixluva wrote:Towns is still a bit raw and clumsy at times. He's not very smooth in the post but he can be effective. Really on the other end he's just what we need. That's why I think he's the better prospect for the Knicks. I don't dislike OK4. I just think KAT solves more of the teams problems in one move.
Completely agree here. But I also saw a lot of Hakeem Olajuwon in Towns' post footwork and touch (i.e., in Saturday night's game and other times this year). Towns may be raw, but he has shown enough to justify the notion that he's a can't miss prospect with upside potential to be a Ewing-esque draft pick for the NYK.
On the defensive end of the court, there's just no comparison. Towns is the better all-around player.
Knicks will take KAT with the first pick if they get it. If not, hopefully whomever does get it will like OK4 better.
