Sam Dekker.
Here endeth the lesson.

No way.
KVH similarities are there.
You want buckets and you pick the second best player on his on team haha
Sam Dekker.BRIGGS - absolutely mo way is Dekker the pick. There has been far too much hype invested in Okafor and Towns. However, building a team is a series of chess moves, not a single move by itself. If yiu have a blueprint, and a so-called savior is not available, such as Patrick Ewing, you strongly consider Dekker.
The pick will be Towns or Okafor. Everyone knows that.
Everyone will fall in love with these guys. Just like they did Keith Van Horn, Wally & Adam Morrison. Good players well except Morrison but not worthy of top 5
gunsnewing - what do you mean by "these guys"?
Arbitrary comparisons to other players are for chumps. Every person is different. There are no carbon copies.
These guys? Please explain.

Are you suggesting that Dekker is a better pick but Towns or Okafor will be picked because of the hype? I actually think there is a lot of hype about Dekker right now. He has been fantastic but Towns/Okafor look like cornerstone players for a franchise. Dekker is ranked 12th on draftnet and 13th on draftexpress. That seems about right to me but things change with workouts and the combine but I don't think he is a top 10 pick this year.
Every year there are guys that are over hyped. And that pressure of high expectations is usually why they fall flat on their face in the nba. Meanwhile players like winslow, decker, kaminsky etc....who are overlooked shine at the next level because of lower expectations. Thats just how it works. Ok4 and Towns might be the exception due to their work ethic....But money is the root of all evil. It can turn an angel into a devil...unless their core values are grounded and they continue to surround themselves around positive roll models. Its all a crap shoot. We need some luck on our side for once.
Thats why we got melo....efficient scorer.

Blkexec - we need a perimeter scorer.
I miss Jerry Lucas

You guys better hope we lose the rest of our games because if we don't then OK4 and Towns won't even be in our reach. We still have games against Detroit, Orlando and a Atlanta team that could sit all of their starters for the game against us and Minn and Philly have way tougher schedules the rest of the way. All the talk is only about us getting big men but i want to know who will be our shooters?? We need guys that can hit the 3 pointer at a 40+% point and as of now we have Timmy who none of us know what kind of player he'll be after watching him this year. One of my main targets all year was W.Mathews but he's gonna miss at least half of next season and we don't know what kind of player he'll even be when he comes back. So who else is out there? Danny Green but he's incosistent. If OK4 and Towns are gone by our pick then D.Russell would be great to have and then we can spend our free agent money on a couple of bigs like G.Monroe and Milsap or Dray Green.

The only way i see us getting Decker is if we don't get a top 2 pick and miss out on Towns and OK4 and Phil trading down in the draft. Jay Williams was on espn this morning and he was saying that he not only thinks Decker has played his way into being a lottery pick but also thinks he should be chosen before Kaminsky.

you just jinxed us... we're definitely picking fourth now
I like Deerfield but I see him as more of a role player. Van Horn was more aggressive on offense and was more adept t creating his own shot. I see Delbert being more of longtime low usage guy along the lines of Robert Horry or Shane Battier.
