Not yet to have him so fast.
When we become a contender, then Lopez can be signed as our backup center.
By the way, the pic above is....awkward.

I think in a scenario where Brook would accept taking 2 years at maximum then having following years non guaranteed after a work up that doctors say that there is simply no evidence that this player is in danger to re-injure.
You have to be kidding me
Bogut
Drummond
Kanter
Jordan
Cousins
Dwight
The Valincblabla guy from Toronto
Noah
Gasol
Gasol
My god is there something in the water around here? Did you actually type Brook Lopez is the best C in the NBA... wait... C = Catcher? What am I missing?

Since they moved Thadeus Young to PF Lopez has been the best C in the NBA.

Lopez isn't even top 10 in my opinion.

+1 And he can't stay healthy. Even he knows he can't stay healthy which is why he'd be opting out this Summer instead of getting his $16M option and then hitting free agency when the cap explodes.
this is one hilarious thread ... thanks for posting.
Brook Lopez = best center in the NBA ...
someone drank and posted and that is always a no no
Since Moving Thadeus Young to PF Brook Lopez has averaged 27.8 points 10 rebounds 2.7 blocks shooting 65% and the Nets are 9-2. I don't think many centers are close to that efficiency and output.

Briggs 11 games doesnt mean anything more than a good couple weeks. But if he's the best center in the league maybe we should trade our pick for him?

This is where you lose me all the time, BRIGGS.
Lopez put up a great half a month, that doesn't make him the best canter in the NBA. 'right now'? what does that even mean? Sign him off 2 good weeks? We know what he is, been in the league a while now.
You're signing scenario for him is just a total mad scientist pipe dream. Never gonna happen.
You come up with some really crazy ideas bro, if there was even the slightest chance of some of them, I could see.
Do you even think the players association would let him sing a dumb contract like that?

I think Briggs is simply saying that over that 11 game span this guy is tearing it up and one should look seriously into his medical to determine if there is a statistical acceptance to his foot. Anyone we sign can go down with an injury. Gasol is coming up to 30 and what if his back gave out? Noah has knee/foot issues his whole career. Bogut has a history of being hurt. BroPez next to Young has created a chemistry that enhances Bropez talent. NBA is not Baseball where states rule, there is 1+1=3 and thats what your looking for!!!!!
In the month of March Bropez is the best center in the league.
What you look at is this guy got healthier, got his confidence back and is playing up to his potential.
If he is a free agent you look at him. You do your due dilligence and then decide.
Thats why you sign Monroe and other players who are under 25 and develop and hold onto our future draft picks

A combo of this and what Nalod says... Im not sold on Monroe (I do like him) but he is def your 1+1=3 type of player. I like Monroe next to Towns. I prefer Robin Lopez next OK4, but this is what Phil getting paid $12mm for.. to make 1+1 equal 3. No more clumsy rosters, rather pieces that fit.
I do love the comments Ive heard from Phil regarding the draft. Nice to see us finally in that race
gunsnewing wrote:I hope he opts in with the Nets that way they can be the NBA team with the worst future just a little longer
Who said trade for him? That is crazy. Lose the pick and eat cap space. No way PHil does that.
I can go with the trade down theory Briggs mentions but Phil will have to be blown away. Basically, someone really wants to move up and grab that top pick!
Regarding Nets, Im rooting for a strong rivalry. nets sucking does not enhance Knicks in anyway. I would love a Knick/Net conf. final one day!!!
To fear losing to the nets is fan Soft!!!!!
