Smith is more of a PF, who can also be a center for a few minutes, and has even shown an ability to hit the 3. Aldrich is much more of a traditional 5, who seems incapable of hitting a jumper, unfortunately.

Totally different in their respective games. Smith gives you more flexibility in your lineup.

Jason Smith, he of the shot he never met that he didn't like taking? Don't we need a 5 that passes in Triangle world?

I believe anybody can play the pivot spot in the triangle. By default, it's the center because he's the closest to the paint.

But come crunch time, the ball will be in Melo's hands. He will do a fake pass twice, face up and pull up.....Get used to this play. It will look like a replay all season.
