maybe they can build his confidence next year. For now, giving him the ball in the post is causing problems.

In game one, every time they gave it to him in the post, GS swarmed him and he did not handle it well at all.

Yesterday he was actually pretty solid but he is far from a good post player.

I do agree that they will need him to play great for them to win.

I think it's confidence..His last year in Orlando, he was a beast in the post..If they don't use him they will lose...The think with DHow, if his confidence on offense rises, then his entire game picks up as well..Rebounding and on defense, he would be impossible..

he is a weak minded player. this is not really the time to try to build his confidence. He needs to go into beast mode and go get it.

Orlando was a long time ago and his confidence as a player has been shook since then.

He is also older and a bit brittle.

teams are also fouling him and he is not converting those opportunities at a good enough rate.

And at this point, whether you choose to believe it or not, Dray Green is a much better player.

He is weak minded but he is also averaging 16 pts and 16 rebs off an injury that kept him out a huge chunk of the year...The games were he put up 20 pts and 21 rebs he was very active on the defensive end...He is shooting 60% from the field in the playoffs..

he is actually playing better than I thought he would.

him going down to injury in game one really hurt Houstons chances. Him playing in game one gave Houston a shot to win.

Houston is way to outclassed to afford Howard missing any time in any games. His rebounding and defense have been quite good. Offensively, he is still a problem especially since teams are forcing him to hit free throws and he is not doing a terrible job at the line and this is really hurting Houston.

okay i can see that point of view but guess what: thompson was guarding the right hand and curry was guarding the left, with the left sideline as a third defender. i think he tried to knife in between and curry i think got a clean swipe of the ball and that was all she wrote. as soon as he sees a trap in that situation he needs to call a timeout.

Harden goes left hard every time..He should have kept going to the rim..He had Curry back peddling...

look at the video, the second one down. are you blind? he would not have been able to turn the corner and get off a shot which is exactly why he turned it back and looked to pass. of the two people who has the better perspective of things? you?!?

no. the proper decision was to call a timeout as soon as he sees the trap forming. the trap was effective! mchale either failed to counsel him to do so or he did and harden made the decision to try and then failed.

Doesn't really matter ..But he could have pushed it..Notice Clay Thompson thought he could beat Curry and slid in behind Curry..Harden needed to go full bore and not slow down..Doesnt matter..

Millsap has looked awful offensively so far this series

Bron should be posting these guys every time down court..

Yup, if the Hawks are going to continue to play Carroll or Bazmore on him then it's a wrap. Millsap takes away some of his post presence but they don't want to do that.

Kyle Korver to miss rest of postseason

http://espn.go.com/nba/playoffs/2015/sto...

ATLANTA -- Hawks shooting guard Kyle Korver will miss the remainder of the postseason after being diagnosed with a severe right ankle sprain.

The Hawks announced they would be without Korver after an MRI on Saturday confirmed the injury. He will visit a foot and ankle specialist to determine the best course of treatment.

Korver injured the ankle in the third quarter Friday of Atlanta's 94-82 loss to the Cleveland Cavaliers in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference finals.

The first-time All-Star suffered the injury when Cavaliers guard Matthew Dellavedova rolled into him while the two players were pursuing a loose ball.

The league leader in true shooting percentage at 69.9, Korver had his most productive season since chosen late in the second round of the 2003 NBA draft. For much of the season, he maintained a 3-point shooting clip above 50 percent. He finished the season at 49.2 percent from beyond the arc with an average of 2.9 successful 3-point attempts per game, second only to Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson.

But Korver's production has dropped in the postseason, as the Hawks' opponents have schemed to reduce his shot attempts. A spot-up shooter who generally requires multiple screens from teammates to get open, Korver has been pursued doggedly by his primary defenders throughout the playoffs and often encounters a second defender "hedging" on the other side of the screen.

Korver finished Game 2 with 12 points on 4-for-11 shooting from the floor, including 2-for-6 from behind the 3-point line, in 32 minutes. In 14 games this postseason, he averaged 11.1 points, 5.0 rebounds and 2.4 assists in 37.6 minutes per game.

Hawks coach Mike Budenholzer's options to replace Korver in the starting lineup include Kent Bazemore, Shelvin Mack, backup point guard Dennis Schroder, who has spent a fair amount of time sharing the backcourt with starter Jeff Teague, and little-used shooting guard John Jenkins.

According to ESPN Stats & Info, Korver entered Friday night's game having traveled 2.7 miles per game in the postseason, fourth-most in the NBA. At 34, Korver is the oldest among the top 55 players in miles traveled.

When made aware of the statistics, Korver told ESPN on Friday prior to Game 3 that playing in perpetual motion is a natural byproduct of his game.

The Hawks, who trail the series 2-0, visit the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Sunday night in Game 3.

dwight howard is such a pretender. anyone who can get blocked out by steph curry on the blocks should never be the starting center for any team in the NBA. he needs to go to china.
TPercy @ 5/23/2015 10:01 PM
Howard has been so poor defensively this half.

And the dumb foul on curry the very next play to get back at him. Very poor.

Missed the first half but it looks like the rockets didn't show up.
markvmc @ 5/23/2015 10:39 PM
And now the T. FFS, Howard, sort yourself out.

GS/Rockets...Yawn.

CG v Rockets . . . Curry is 7/9 on 3s. Yikes. Is that a playoff record?
