I agree - take the best player we think has the greatest chance to become an impact player in this league.

Because in 2 years, Phil may be gone, Fisher may be gone and Melo could be a hurt Amar'e shell of himself with nagging knee/shoulder injuries.

Phil and Melo are going to have more input into the decision than anyone else... this whole "Phil may be gone, Melo may be injured.." that's true... but no matter how you slice it - those two guys are the ones making the pick.

To pretend anything else is silly.

Watch 3 great post players under 22

5guards under 24

Younger vets in place. Carmelo Carroll Schvyd Thomas Aldrich admindson

There is no better plan of action to rebuild the entire frontcourt in this great big man draft and to take advantage of the high caliber guard talent that will drift to rd 2. lantern at 22 is the biggest no brainer free agent.

No mor running a team year to year with 9 flips

I don't want ledo Larkin back. Smith only as last resort

Love both Vaughn and young(so many great guards!!in rd 2 also like Hanlan it's like guard heaven in rd 2

Don't know about than sis yet. Could easily replace him

If kanter is as good as you say he is...Sam presti won't let him get away
RonRon @ 4/16/2015 8:27 PM
Kanter fits in with OKC, with a PG that has the ability to penerate/finish with contact/draw double triple teams/taking the pressure off him as they must conenctrate on Westbrook first
They have the BIGS that can do the dirty work and defend that we do not currently have, I think too much emphasis is being put on the STAT's that are produced in the process

If you are telling Kanter to play the role that Shaq/Pau Gasol/Bynum played in, I think you got it all wrong....

Why wasn't Kanter able to do it consistently in Utah?
The reason is Westbrook wasn't in Utah and most importantly, IT DOESN'T translate to W's with his poor DEFENSIVE INABILTIES that we currently do not have the BIGS to make up his weakness and CA's

moot point...sounds like as long as they have Ibaka there to erase his defensive mistakes, then okc and sam presti will keep kanter. if presti decides to dump kanter then that should be a serious red flag considering his talent

Ron this player is a beast from the 4. Hes 6-11 260 with range out to 3. Per minute with OKC he rebounded like a max player. He was the number 1 offensive rebounder in the NBA per minute the last 26 and #3 overall. If you look at what he can bring--the ability to score 25-30 points the ability to get 12-15 rebounds and to do it in an efficient manner --you're not going to get many more mobile 4's who are better. To get this at 22 years old without drafting it is unheard of. The NBA is all about balancing out the roster but hes a guy you can throw the ball into and score --thats what I believe in. I have seen the passing ability and the effort. His defense should get better and better with effort and coaching. If he could block 2.5 shots right now--its pretty simply there is NO way hed be available.

No way they can keep Durant Kanter Ibaka at top dollar--isnt happening. With Adams Jones and Mcgary they have allocation problems.

cap will skyrocket in 2016

like i said, all the OKC podcasts, interviews articles that ive researched point towards them liking Kanter (as much as we do) so they play to resign him

oh nooooooooooooooooo lets not turn this thread into a Kanter debate...lol
