Knicks · Question about pick 3 or 4 (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 4/17/2015 1:46 PM
Im dead set on taking Towns #1 and Okafor #2 no exceptions no trades.

But at #3 #4 would you do the following

Pick #3 to Atlanta for D Scroheder pick 43 from last year Walter Taveras and pick 15.

JrZyHuStLa @ 4/17/2015 1:48 PM
No. Plenty of talent still there after Towns/Okafor.
fishmike @ 4/17/2015 1:53 PM
god no... why? First off all your dead set on keeping those guys at 1/2, but they may not even be the highest impact players in this draft.

Dennis the menace doesnt impress me. He's fast, but he's tiny small. I dont see how this helps us at all.

StarksEwing1 @ 4/17/2015 1:55 PM
Damn briggs you are dead set on trading our pick

Of course--great talent-you have to give to get. That gives them the entire pick of the litter at 3 with Ok and Towns gone--its their choice which is fantastic.

What I(or what I would like the Knicks to do is team build rather than go crazy and trade for Cousins etc.. take Stein to high before going over better case sceanrios for the club) Team building in this situation is a I get more for my pick 3 than just one player and the culmulative assets equal more to my team then the one asset by itself.

In this case you might be talking Schroeder Taveras Kaminsky for lets say Russell.

Outside of pick 1 or 2 Im very willing to trade the pick. Not for the kind of deal that some of the dubes on realgm want in Cousins--but an asset laden trade only around youth that helps me bring in a higher cumulative take.

BRIGGS @ 4/17/2015 2:09 PM
By the way this is 7-3 265 pd Walter Taveras

6-1 170 pound Dennis Screoder(pronounced shroooooder)

To me this seems like throwing some bullshit idea out there & if in 3, 4 years it pans out, we'll hear from you.
if it doesn't, you'll never mention it again.

You do too many of these scenarios to bee taken too seriously.

You come up with the craziest shit & so much of it, but one day you'll be right just based on volume.

Vmart @ 4/17/2015 2:26 PM
Why go that route why not just draft 3 or 4 take Mudiay. Get Ajinica in FA. Are picks 15 and 43 that important?
Hector @ 4/17/2015 2:26 PM
It's a horrible idea, but I bet you would take kaminsky at that 15th pick.

I hope he turns out to be Novitski, but I'm still betting he'll be Brickowski - & that isn't so bad, but I don't want it!
StarksEwing1 @ 4/17/2015 2:31 PM
Its about time we use our draft picks instead of trading them and regretting it. I mean we are picking in the top 4 with a lot of impacto talent at the top
y2zipper @ 4/17/2015 2:32 PM
Unless the Knicks can trade the pick for a real, established building block (E.G. Cousins), they should be keeping it to try to get one.

Im advocating potentially trading the pick in a deal similar to this IF we dont get 1 or 2. Ive looked this thing up and down. I LOVE the draft best DRAFT in a long time the assets keep pouring in. I think after 2 you really look at whats out there to trade down. IF NOT you make a pick but I have a lot of idea to move us down and I think make out better.

Hector @ 4/17/2015 2:37 PM
Whatever. I know the Hawks point guard came on & the other guy might be promising - & the 15th pick, but I'm not buying that proposition - with prejudice!!
Knicks1969 @ 4/17/2015 2:38 PM
BRIGGS, why the disrespect for Russell? Is he not worth one of the top three picks?

Like I said--I think the potential to move down and bring a trade together that trumps one player after 2 is there. In one year alone Dennis Scrhoeder will be worth a top 5 pick by himself not toi mention getting a C prospect who might go lottery this year in Taveras then taking their 15. In Schroeder ALONE Im getting more proven high quality value just to start. Sometimes people need to look at the tentacles of a trade. The pick/ player we trade could be bust. We could lose the trade--even badly but there is no chance of a bust.

Mudiay, Russell, Winslow, Mario... work them out and take the best player. No need to outsmart yourself here.

Want a mid to last first rounder? Me too.. please sent Timmy packing!

Knixkik @ 4/17/2015 2:42 PM
Russell and Mundiay. This is a 4 man draft. Not sold on Winslow. I don't see star potential, and feel his tournament performance added a little too much hype. I like him, just not in the top 5.

Agreed, make the pick and work free agency. I like Timmy but I'm still pissed at him for hit that shot. You know what they say players play and coaches manage win and losses.

Id very likely take Vaughn there at 15 as Kaminsky would be gone. That would net me Scrhoeder taveras and Vaughn. Vaughn could EASILY be as good as ANYONE drafted 3-6. He just came into the draft a few days ago for those who dont know who I am talking about. He was also hurt 2nd half of year. He was the number 1 SG prospect coming into CBB last year. Hes 6-6 215. Ranked higher than Russell or Winslow.

crzymdups @ 4/17/2015 2:49 PM
If I get pick 3 or 4 I'm taking D'Angelo Russell or Justice Winslow. Maybe Mudiay if he wows you in a workout.

No way I trade the pick. Best value is to draft well at that spot and use the money in FA.

You trade that pick it's almost a lock you are sending out the best player in the trade for multiple guys who aren't as good.
