Monty did a great job with what he had, with injuries to
Jrue Holiday *brings DEFENSE that they do not have with the ability to score, facilitate, and defend at a high level* they gave up Noel and a 1st rounder for Holiday and Noel would have been a great defender/rebounder that would fit in with New Orleans with sidekick Anthony Davis being both very mobile/athletic/great length/ability to defend multiple position on switches
Ryan Anderson
Eric Gordon/Tyreke Evans, Gordon not being the same player that he was the ALL STAR on the Clippers after his injury for many seasons now and Evans which is talent but not a true PG or SF, though filled in much this season and doesn't work vs legit playoff contenders
Asik/Anthony Davis
While they brought in some qualifty players and very good defenders with their 2nd unit with
Norris Cole
Quincy Pondexter
Dante Cunningham
Alex Ajinicia
I have no evidence but it is possible that Williams preffered a trade for Noel, while overpaying for Holiday *because Noel was able to develop to the player he is in the middle to end of the season in just one year after skill/injury concerns and Jrue Holiday hasn't turned out quite as well for them....
If Curry doesn't hit that 3pter in game 3 and New Orleans made this a series, not sure if it would have changed the outcome of his status
I am just not sure if they have someone in place already to target, whether they have sourches on Thibs, interest in Brian Shaw, or a NCAA coach, or just felt it was time to go after someone that would be better for a team that has the best player in the world in terms of building a foundation RIGHT NOW with, in Anthony Davis, and some good pieces around them
Maybe they wanted Ajinicia to play more with AD and Williams like Jackson was unwilling to play Draymond Green and demote Iggy with loyalty to David Lee as well who has been very good EVERY YEAR prior to this season in which GS has the best year and eventually added 2 quality guard in Livingston and Barbosa, in which would have been better than Jack *though can score and defend is quite older than Livingston* and Nate RObinson
Whether you credit Anthony Davis and his Head Coach, Monty Williams, that also coached for TEAM USA this past year, and his coaching staff/development coaches/trainers, and Alex Ajinicia's development
I think he did a great job in terms of the development of Davis or do we give credit to his ceiling and work ethic himself??? As well as Ajinicia whos potential looked to be untapped as it wasn't by other teams/coaching staffs though he gets to learn of AD in practice
He would be a great assistant coach in my opinion and has done a great job in terms of development
New Orleans as always been a very good defensive team, outside of this season partily due to injuries and players not being good at it, for many seasons in the tough Western Conference
Maybe he was just a short term coach before that was great in development while they feel they have the talents/players to take them to next level, similiar to Mark Jackson/Steve Kerr
Though Jackson had a poor relationship with built in frustration for losing players he liked every year and management always wanted to go in a different direction with players such as
Carl Landry, Jarret Jack, Nate Robinson, and a few others
However, Coaches lose their voice after a couple of season of failing, it also tells the players to STEP UP or you will be traded as well as it is easier to fire one players than 15 players
They feel it is time to move on rather than being a Scotty Brooks for OKC, instead of overpaying for coaches such as Dantoni/Larry Brown, when we were going through rebuilding stages, it just didn't make sense or dollars
After acquiring the talent to contend, going after the coach such as Rivers, Phil Jackson *on the Lakers*, etc, that are better X and O coaches and will employ a different philosophy with the talent assembled
Not sure if he ever bumped heads with his mangement do to roster/players and rotations like Mark Jackson
I surely would like to pick him up on this COACHING STAFF as we have been one of the worse teams in terms of development and with a possible BIG like KAT or OK4, it is hard to deny that the former Knick has done or knows the coaches/trainers/development coaches that would do a great job on development of BIGS
Also I have been high on Alex Ajinicia and hope we can get him at a bargain, and there will not be a better opinion on what ceiling Ajinicia could have with the cost we should pay for him in addition to the development of our future, I hope we bring in Rasheed Wallace if we have any talent that has the ability to play in the post and hit the 3pter, possibly defend/rebound/block shots like Rasheed has done for much of his career, along with Billups who could work with our "BIG PG's and Galloway", and mentor leadership along with HIGH IQ playing on and off the ball, when to go facilitating/scoring, how to defend without the speed/quickness or athleticism/size of a Westbrook on multiple position, with multiple versatile talents on the Detroit team
