he brought hope to an abused fanbase because of his knick championship pedigree. that hope does not translate to an immediate turnaround. moreover i lost any hope when he signed a career underachiever to a 124 million dollar contract and threw in a no trade clause-- everything he said prior to that turned out to be rhetoric and posturing. jackson deserves the 4th pick (even though we could still win by acquiring winslow imo). jackson angered HIS basketball gods with that ridiculous contract.... hoist on his own petard.

So are you in mourning too?

If Andrea Bargnani leaves, maybe we can trade the pick along with Langston Galloway and Tim Hardaway Jr. to get Baragnani back!

lets put it this way: i cursed loudly at the tv not once but twice last night.

i am not in mourning. the dolan-owned knicks have repeatedly found ways to alienate me. this latest event only confirms that jackson is right, that there are basketball gods, or karma.

The reason fans are so pissed is because for 95% of the season we were in last place and the final 3 games we decided all of a sudden to start playing like it was the playoffs and it obviously cost us bigtime. Its been 15 years of bad embarrassing mistakes so it takes a toll on fans

All the Knicks can do now is make the best of the situation.

One of the complications IMHO is that picking 5th would actually be easier to trade down with than 4th.

Pick 4 is a hazy swing pick. And it will largely influence the value of pick 5 for possible trading down.

But in terms of being sad or disappointed, I HOPED the Knicks would win the draft lottery, but accepted that it was ONLY A POSSIBILITY. I've been saying since the offseason, to not see winning the draft lottery as absolute, but countless guys on this board treated it like money in the bank.

yes ... people just assumed that we would win but obviously that was not a probability.

what did really hurt is giving up the 10% extra chance of getting a desperately needed top 3.

We should have won more games so we picked 2 or 3. Dammed if you do, damned if you dont. Its a lottery. Literally.

The Knicks had no reason to win thsoe last 2 games no reason at all. Gotta give Minnesota credit they knew that a in the long run 2 extra menaingless wins isnt better than a better pick
