as much as i like carroll, i dont think he will sign with a (current) loser team like the knicks. money talks but other teams have money too. instead this tells me they will focus their efforts to get monroe. i think they will draft the most likely best available talent (i dont think their sophisticated enough in the draft to think outside the box)

I like that plan but I don't think it would fit in our current salary space. I count 32 millions without stretching Calderon and paying Mudiay. Plus, I would switch Schved and Mudiay. Let Mudiay get accustomed to the game without too much pressure. He'll get crushed against the Westbrook, Irving, Wall, etc.

This is the concept i want to go by. Unless we can get M Gasol, Aldridge, or Love, we settle for adding Monroe, a defensive big like Koufos, and some rentals, then maybe just sit tight for the year. Make a run at Durant or Horford in 2016. But for now Mudiay, Galloway, Melo, Monroe, and Koufos is sufficient to make improvements.

I could live with this for sure and then add to that in 2016 and then again in 2017.
What makes Mudiay any better then Langston?
I'm taking Mudiay or Russell. Then, I'm throwing MAX dollars at DeAndre Jordan and tossing in one of Phil's rings (got 11 but 10 fingers!). The rest is filler, undrafted guys, guys from last year, etc.

Monroe is getting a max
Scvheyd is getting an MLE or close to it
Anjica will get 5-6mm
IF Gasol is gone we will have trouble dealing with Memphis for Koufus(Koufus to me is a 30-70)
Mudiay is a possibility but I dont have faith in the NYK to draft a player like Mudaiy.
How about Jose Calderon for Nikola Pekovic & some future picks from Minny?
Roll the dice and hope he gets/stays healthy. His deal is longer than Jose, but only $5m more per year.
When the dice is rolled and the players play watch for Frank Kaminsky from the top of the draft and Jordan Mickey from the later half to be standouts.

I'm offering Monroe max and Koufos a fair contract, while adding some depth off the bench for cheap, such as Lavoy Allen, and sitting tight.
