Knicks · Let me propose this to knick fans (page 1)

BRIGGS @ 5/23/2015 5:59 PM
From Philadelphia

I'll give you pick 3(Russell)for pick 4 AND you have to find a way to get me a pick between 20-25 in this years draft

Would you do this?

VCoug @ 5/23/2015 6:18 PM
No. If we can get a pick between 20 and 25 for the crap on our roster we should keep it. That pick could get us Montrezl Harrell, Rakeem Christmas, or the guy I would pick if he's available there George de Paula
Knicks1969 @ 5/23/2015 6:29 PM
Pick 4 and one of the exceptions? Yes.

It would cost more than an exception but if you can get me that pick I'll give the Knicks russell

I believe the lakers or twolves will surprise us all

no because #1 and #2 are interchangable and after those picks the expectations (for me drop down a level). #3 and #4 are also interchangable then it also drops down again. the knicks should be keeping any draft picks they have not giving them away.

Vmart @ 5/23/2015 8:35 PM
Why would you do that you can just take pick 4 and go get 20-25 pick and draft Woods.

I'm just gauging how people view Russell

jamp @ 5/23/2015 9:00 PM
I want Russell more then Briggs wants Kaminsky, but I would not do that trade. You keep that other pick and draft Mickey not Woods.

Yes I make that trade.

Yes I make that trade.

If the Sixers want Mudiay they take him at 3 no need to give them anything. If we get another pick we take Mickey not Woods. We'll
be alright as long as we draft a point guard. There are two elite point guards on the board take one.

EwingsGlass @ 5/23/2015 10:23 PM
I'm pretty happy with Winslow at the 4. That said, if it took a 2nd to get Russell and not risk some other player at 4, probably would do it. I'm not convinced Russell is absolutely better than Winslow. Pretty sure he is better than the rest of the options. 6'10 wingspan, left, PG. That said, I love Winslow -- a lefty elite athlete. Not really sure what the knock on him is. Would like to see a little more wingspan. Better handles. Add a midrange jumper.

The question is not whether to sacrifice unnecessarily. The question is if the price is that, do you believe the marginal value of Russell over Mudiay justifies it and I think it does.

crzymdups @ 5/23/2015 11:07 PM
Yes, I absolutely make that trade.

I think the Knicks should be active in talking to Minnesota, LA and Philly to see what it would take to move up.

I like him, but I still have my suspicions about him- particularly that he seemed to crumble against better teams and players. Also I think people are being a little blinded by Steph Curry and projecting that onto him.

I definitely am using Curry as his benchmark. Unfairly, that is. But I also see Jimmy Butler in Justise Winslow. And Tyreke Evans in Mudiay. There are 5 strong players. I'm pretty set on Winslow.

what did Minny/Memphis exchange in the Love/Mayo trade? Jaminson/Carter trade is another example. Do anyone know any other back to back trades?

Looking at those two examples, maybe the knicks should move up one. lol.

Webber/Hardaway and Nowitzki/Traylor are two others. Webber/Hardaway was actually a two spot move for Golden State. They had to give up three future 1st round picks to move up for Webber. Nowitzki/Traylor was a three spot move. Dallas just got Pat Garrity there.

Hardaway / Webber

Aldridge / Thomas

Team 1 gets the player Team 2 wants. Team 1 is at least indifferent between the two players. Team 1 trades with Team 2 to obtain the benefit of the salary decrease between the two draft positions. No additional consideration is necessary.
