i'm starting to see that kaminsky is rising in a lot of mock drafts. people are waking up slowly. He's the best and most skilled big man in the draft. Jeff Hornaseck is hoping teams are dumb enough to let him slip to the suns while everyone falling for the hype of mudiay, winslow, and wcs
holfresh @ 6/5/2015 4:10 AM
Some how I know u two will have Kaminsky as the first pick before it's all said and done..

I just watched this clip and it reminded me of what Porzingis could turn into....Bargani 2.0 That thought gives me nightmares.

Someone elses perspective against Porzingis from this article
This is based exclusively on a 15 minute draft express video so treat it with the appropriate amount of respect, but this is basically my worst nightmare with the pick. This guy looks 100% exactly like Bargnani 2.0 to me. Tall guy with a pretty nice touch on his jumper but overall shooting stats aren’t blowing you away, no inside game, poor passer, mediocre rebounder, doesn’t like the physical side of the game, lacking fundamentals on D, poor instincts, lacks a feel for the game. And yet it seems like all the scouts are saying basically, “Yes, all of that is true, but not many guys his size can do the things he can do”. I mean I’ve seen this exact movie before and it ends with me laughing/crying while watching GIFs like this one.

If Phil likes Porzingis, then he must like Kaminsky as well. Either this is a smoke screen, or Phil is in a serious dilemma, deciding who to pick.

Mudiay
Winslow
WCS
Porzingis
Kaminsky

All have been linked to the knicks....And you can make a case for all of them. Which is why Phils best move might be to trade out of this spot....obtaining one of these guys later on (with teams picking 5-9).....Phil gets one of these guys plus another asset or two.....depending on the deal.

I think they all have star potential...and they all can fit well next to Monroe.

At the same time, they all have bust potential, so trading this spot is not like trading out of the top 3 spots, where you have a higher percentage of getting a franchise talent.

fishmike @ 6/5/2015 8:24 AM
If we took a Euro guy I would take Mario or Porzingis morning noon and night. Im sooooo with blkexec on the Bargs view

Kristaps sounds like a snack food:

"whole Wheat Kristaps"
"Gluten Free Kristaps"
"White Chedder Kristaps"

A breakfast cereal?

"Kristaps with Crunch Berries"
"Fruity Kristaps"
"Honey Nut Kristaps"

We keep the pick if one of the top 3 teams pick from this group. Otherwise these guys are second tier players in the draft.

Mudiay
Winslow
WCS
Porzingis
Kaminsky

They are at a similar level...high risk high reward.

I would feel better if we got an additional pick to go with 1 of these guys.

That would make up for not getting a top 3 pick.

I wouldn't be surprise, phil is hell bent on building "THE ALL NBA WHITE TEAM" a bunch of stiff white guys who can only shoot midrange shots. Not even the brent barry, bill lambier type either

As most know i've been on the porzingis train for a while so i wouldn't mind this pick at all but i just don't see Phil taking him at #4. I know Phil said the team will be built through free agency but when it comes down to it i think he wants to pick someone that can help right away if he keeps the #4 pick and think he'll take either Winslow or WCS. I also think a trade is high up on his list but don't know if he'd rather trade down and pick up more picks or trade it for a veteran. I'm sure whichever gets him the best pieces to help next year. The Knicks are definitely the wild card in the top of this draft.

Have you also watched any clips that show he can turn into a Dirk 2.0 cause those clips are also out there?? Nobody on here or any GM out there can predict how this kid will turn out cause he has the tools to be great and there's always the chance that he becomes the next Bargs but you won't know until it happens.

Yeah i think for sure the best outcome for us would be to trade down no more then 3/4 spots so we still end up with one of the guys we all like in some way or another while picking up another draft pick or two or picking up a veteran player in the deal. For me i'd quickly forget about the rookie GM moves Phil has made so far if he can come out of this draft with one of those players and then some.

I hear you. I think if Phil wants a player that can help ASAP then it will be either Winslow, WCS or Kaminsky. I am actually fine with any of the 3 or Mundiay and Russell. I will be ecstatic if we end up with OK4. I am more worried about free agency.

I've been waiting to see how azcentral.com projected the draft.

Porzingis has a unique skillset and physique but that doesn't translate to stardom (see the host of Euro big men that have washed out the league e.g. Jan Vesley, Darko Milicic, etc.). And in watching his game, there is nothing about his demeanor or game that suggests he can be the 2nd or 3rd best player on a title contender. So is this really the guy we take as high as no.4? I do like him...but as a mid first round pick when you can afford to swing for the fences.
nixluva @ 6/5/2015 11:03 AM
I feel there's no chance in hell Phil takes Porzingis. He's not gonna take some giant question mark when he has much more sure talent in front of him. Players that he's personally seen and knows are much closer to being NBA ready. KrisP is all potential. He's 220 lbs soaking wet and no real strength. How long will it take for him to put on 20 lbs of muscle if he ever does? Phil has much better options at #4 IMO. Let someone else take the chance on KrisP.

Are you talking about phil here, you seem to be so sure of his moves, yet they have all back fired
