Teague is a good comparison. I like Lawson also

Interesting, given the OKC "guarantee." Payne might want to play in LA, but they would be taking him at #27, not sure he would be that happy.
One columnist quoted Kupchak as not wanting 3 rookies on his roster next season.
Would love to get that 27th pick, somehow, if the above rumor is true.
Time for Phil to use that Zen charm on his girl
I read the lakers may package their 27th and 34th for the Bulls 22nd- no idea if it's true or not.

Ugh.Wish Phil would channel his inner Dolan and plug the leaks, if this isnt a smokescreen. All he is doing by letting it slip that he might want to draft a player is making it harder for him to be drafted.
Even if Phil isn't batting a .1000 with his draft picks, he is respected enough to raise a player's draft value. He told everyone he wanted to hire Steve Kerr, and look what happened.
Hope you enjoy it- I was just in Seattle for the first time in March.
I have no worries about our draft stuff leaking, because essentially we've leaked that we are interested in everyone: Lyle, Payne, Winslow, WCS, Mudiay, Russell. We've leaked we're keeping the pick and we're trading down. There's so many contrary stories about what we're up to, now no one will believe any further info that comes up. Meanwhile it's helped get the message out we're willing to consider any deal, so hopefully wee've had lots of phone calls.
i like everything except his size and body, mudiay and russell got 3 inches and much more stronger than him

Agree, but sometimes that little guy/I'll show the world attitude really motivates.

That would work to give them 1 less rookie, and get them a better player, if they make the right choice.
We have might have too little leverage to get a late #1, it would seem.

perhaps but i rather try to get him in future when he is a free agent and more established and his body has filled out which will take years

Thanks smackeddog, will be living in Seattle until I find a house in the country, looking forward to some peace and quiet. I hear all these complaints about the drivers, but they've got nothing on floridians.
Some of the names you've mentioned are projected to be top picks so I get the strategy of keeping other GMs guessing. Cameron is slated to go a further down, at least until now. Would be better for Phil IMO not to let on who he is interested in when it comes to picks who might slot anywhere from the low first to high second round.
I love this kid! Hes my favorite in case we trade down to #8-9
The fact that it was rumored the thunder promised to draft him at #14 has to help his stock profile. The thunder has one of the best funded scouting departments in the league and they'll be looking for a really good PG to replace Reggie Jackson.
