This one should cause folks to look twice.

You know stuff we don't know, or are you throwing some kind of bone to Briggs?

I don't think Zinger handles the speed in the NBA, I call bust. But Fuzaro... Maybe he ducks out of his draft quietly waiting for free agency next year, but I think he is gonna be a stud. Hezonja isn't for my team this year, but I think he is the top SG coming out. I think Russell competes immediately while some of these guys have adjustment periods, but I think that he will end up getting lost in tweener land and eventually pushed to SG where his athleticism will be a liability. Russell really is the biggest risk reward in this draft and I would take him in a heartbeat and pray he is a Steph Curry clone. Mudiay is likely to be great some day, I am not sure I can wait. This draft is so deep that we will be looking at guys like Trey Lyles and Cameron Payne as they make their 3rd all star games and laugh that they barely crack the top 10 best players in the draft.

So best players, see above. Best value on a rookie scale contract? Different question.

Was really impressed in the clips I saw of Fuzaro. Could be a steal. Wonder if SA might take him for some fresh blood?

EwingsGlass @ 6/14/2015 10:08 PM
I don't see Ginobili, I see see a bigger more athletic Leandro Barbosa, but a guy who plays with his head up and a bit more above the rim. A bit more fire to get to the bucket. Bigger hands. I hope he backs out of this years draft, cause I don't think we will be able to buy the pick to get him.

I like the Furazo guy to. Plays hard, diving all over the place. He looks like he's going to break his neck, literally.

I'm surprised more people did not have hezonga top 5 If he showed me a passing game I could conceivably have him 3 or as high as 1 . He not only looks like the best shooter in the draft but he might b the most athletic. Also he may have the Kobe bad as and I know it confidence with that combination at 6-8 . I keep him at 5 because of non passing an unknown rebounding skills but if there are big misses to be had he might be on of them.

Watching tape of Russell I moved him up to 3 I cannot ignore what I see in the nba right now which is a movement to perimeter based skilled basketball. Moved what I perceive as the two most explosive perimeter players to 3-4 Okafor to 5. I think Porzingis and Towns are in league of their own. Gs is changing my opinion on how the game is played. As much as I think Stein not a great fit than I have to admit the perimeter players will have more importance than Kaminsky as well.

Okafor
Russell
WCS
Mudiay

I loved Towns if we had #1 pick. Now I feel WCS is a great 2nd option. He will be different than Towns, but I feel just as effective for this team.

Okafor is a great offensive player but I don't like how he still looked like he was soft around the middle. I think he's going to be fighting his weight for a while. Still he's a franchise big.

Russell is very exciting. If he fell to 4 I could understand taking him. He's gonna be a good one. He's very flexible between 1 and 2, which makes him a perfect fit for the Triangle.

Mudiay is gonna be good, but I don't like him for this team. It all depends on how Phil feels about his talent and whether he can be effective off the ball too.

2 favorite 1st round bigs after top 5: Frank Kaminsky, Myles Turner

2 favorite 1st round guards after top 5: Jerian Grant, Delon Wright

Dark horse pick that will exceed expectations: Myles Turner

Favorite 2nd round prospects: Joe Young (would add nice firepower to that 2nd unit and he came a long way playing PG this season--a bigger Aaron Brooks/Bryce Cotton) followed by Danilo Fuzaro and Pat Connaughton (good call on all 3, Briggs. Really like Connaughton's toughness, surprising athleticism and his ability to shoot the ball. Same for Fuzaro who's no longer on nbadraft.net's mock -- did he withdraw? Saw video of him shooting the ball in his Vegas workout and he was lights out--all net on every baseline 3 he put up. Dude reminds me of Vinny Del Negro). I like Dakari Johnson a lot in the 2nd round too but can't picture him staying in unless he gets a 1st round guarantee from someone. If he returns to school, he could really boost his production next season and improve his stock. I like Christmas and Mickey in the 2nd round too but feel like we can get similar bigs out of the DL for the minimum (Jerrelle Benimon, Khem Birch).

Player I want most at 4 after thinking about it: Okafor. Not only is he ready to play now, the urgency to go get Greg Monroe and give him the max would no longer be there. I know Monroe is a reduced max player and the idea of getting him has grown on me considerably the past couple of weeks, but if we got Okafor, we could really stretch out our FA cap room a lot further. I'd like to see Phil go after quite a few guys--Ajinca, resign Shved, Lavoy Allen and maybe make a serious run at Cory Joseph if we don't get Russell in the draft (or Mudiay, although I'm no longer focusing on him). Trouble seeing how we'll be able to do everything I'd like to see them do if we pay Monroe $15mm+. Some talk now that Okafor could slip to us at 4 (did the Lakers promise Russell the pick at 2? Have to see now if Russell still works out for the Knicks which is TBD last I heard). Agree with those saying that Porzingis' stellar workout has now improved our situation dramatically -- feel a lot better now about our chances of landing one of Okafor, Russell or Porzingis at 4 all of a sudden. Have to wait and see..

I'm more interested in a top 10 to see where people stand. I could go deeper than that even. Hell might as well.

1. Mudiay
2. Okafor
3. Russell
4. Towns
5. Payne
6. Grant
7. Winslow
8. Kaminsky
9. Turner
10. Lyles
11. Dekker
12. S Johnson
13. Porzingis
14. Hezonja
15. Stein

Call me crazy that's my board right now up to 15. The major drop offs are really after 3 and 11 in my opinion.

Bonn1997 @ 6/15/2015 7:13 AM
I thought Briggs was asking us who we personally would pick 1 to 5. I'd still stick with my same list in terms of my predictions of long-term actual best 5 but there are 60 guys who could end up being in the top 5.

That's what I was assuming too.

This isn't that cut and paste that you asked for, but this is the way I hope that the draft shakes out. Porzingis brings so much to the table, and he's only 19 yrs old. As he matures, he's gonna be a monster.

Good point. With the Embiid news, a lot of bigs are now in play at the 3 spot. Wondering why the 76ers are so forthcoming so close to the draft?
