Also had some information regarding Saric. Apparently he won't be over next year and may weight until the rookie salary restrictions expire.

Man that would be a truly great turn of events for the Knicks. I'm not even going to get myself excited about it cuz it's almost too good to be true. It could happen but i'm not sure how likely it is that Philly would do such a thing. They know they'd be handing us a gift. Usually they look to extract some value with their drafting. Taking KrisP would surrender that value to the Knicks.

The Knicks hold the cards on Porzingis. They could act like they are taking him--for themselves or anyone else so easily. Philly's position of strength is with just taking a pick @3--it wont be trading down. If they really want Porzingis they have to take him 3 in this draft.

Wojo has an article out about how Kristaps may get picked by the Lakers. A lot of good stuff in there including tid bits about how many times some gms have gone to see him etc.

Greta article--he really seems like someone who is just different from any Euro that has come along. His whole family is about basketball. The guy is 7-1 with a 7-6 wingspan and 19. He already has an excellent shot--why cant he be every bt as good as anyone in the NBA on the defensive side but also have the ability in his prime to score 25 points and grab 10-12 rebounds? I dont think he goes below 3 LA the owner is the guy who took Bynum--hes a guy who has the cahones to take him 2.

I not buying it but if Philly did grab Kris they would have one of the longest/Tallest front lines when Saric comes over.

Draftexpress said he might not come over until 2017. It sounds like he definitely isn't coming over for next season.

“I don’t like being labeled soft,” Porzingis told Yahoo Sports. “I’m very hungry. I love the game. I’ve got to prove to coaches and GMs that I’m not soft just because I’m from Europe. They need to see that I’m not just some skinny white guy, that I’m going to be there fighting. They’ll need to see that I’m a worker who’s going to play hard, and play tough …

Come on now--I love this kid. If it was my choice and he was there at 4 hed be a Knick.

Vmart @ 6/16/2015 6:24 PM
I'm not buy any of this I still maintain the top four will be Towns, Okafor, Russell and Mudiay.

I know youre a smart guy but on this one Porzingis is the real deal. I guess if youre a Knick fan and you dont like Porzinigis this will make you happy right?

CrushAlot @ 6/16/2015 6:28 PM
Draftnet updated their mock and has him going 5th and the Knicks taking Mudiay.

He's just not projected to be a solid NBA player.

I want to hit a home run too. It's not about liking Prozingis or anything like that. If I had another draft pick in the first round I wouldn't be against taking Prozingis or Kaminsky even WCS basically a risk pick. We need the guy that is going to elevate other players game. out of the guys around 4 Mudiay and Russell are the only ones that make others better.

“The biggest thing for me – the thing that I think most about – is that you can get into the gym whenever you want here,” Porzingis told Yahoo Sports over dinner recently. “They give you a card, or a key, and in the middle of the night, if you want to work out, you just go to the gym and get your work in – and I think that’s amazing.

This is why you draft him at #4, or why Hinkie takes him, even if he does not come out this year, or why Orlando might take him. You don't need to know anything else, if this is what he's thinking about.

Already said stuff about how basketball is his life dozens of times, this kind of article just confirms it.

LA won't take him if he's not coming out this year...Hinkie might.

We are going top end up with the ability to take Russell, OK4, or Porzingis.

If I'm Phil would not trade down and not take any other player at this spot if Porzingis is there, unless for some amazing reason OK4 and Porzingis are both there, and that won't happen.

Might add that he has already said that he wanted to play in NY, by the way. The articles are out there. If we draft him he will play with us next year.

Not sure if folks are just obtuse, Europhobic, or perhaps even racist (yup), but there is a reason this guy is being talked about by the guys will might lose their jobs if they are wrong.

If I'm wrong about him being worth it at 4, I lose some forum credibility...no big deal- I thought Duncan might be too weak after watching him in college despite his skill, and Mardy Collins might be a serviceable guard in the NBA- I know I'm wrong sometimes- but there are some pretty savvy guys out there looking at Porzingis as a potential franchise changer, and some of you are sticking your heads in the sand, closing your eyes, or putting your hands on your ears like little kids saying "nah nah nah nah nah...I'm not listening...I'm not listening."

The Town/OK4/Russell/Mudiay trope being thrown out all the time might just happen, but no matter how the draft goes, and if this or that person "picks it correctly," the only time you really know if the picks were good ones is to look back at them 3-5 years down the line.

GustavBahler @ 6/16/2015 6:59 PM
Not getting my hopes up after falling to 4. Just keep Mills far away from the war room, lol.
BRIGGS @ 6/16/2015 9:02 PM
I would take Porzingis without hesitation if Im Philly. I think Orlando will take him at 5 if they dont. After Towns I think Porzingis has the best peak potential. I think the nuances of the game i.e passing positional awareness will all be there in time. This guy puts on a hard 15-20 pounds and hes going to be great. I like his mentality--hes going to practice and train hard. The two Euros for the first time that I can remember to me are 2 of the top 4 guys.

Love this quote and it that sold me on him....This shows he's going to put in the work and get better. Not only that, be he's a student of the game. Has mentioned that he studied Garnett, A Davis, etc. Quotes like this is what also endeared me to Russell as he is also a gym rat who studies the game.

One of the reasons why people hesitate with him is, the resent string of Euro players who haven't panned out, and lack of familiarity. He seems to be the real deal. If we can come out this draft with either Prozingas or Russell, most will be very pleased. Still a bit concerned about his body though, but the kid looks like he has the goods for sure.

I can relate to how Porzingis feels. Since I was a kid, always wanted my own indoor bball court to play whenever I wanted. Im about to buy a house with a huge multi-story shed that the previous owner used as an auto shop, its big enough to put in a small full court setup. Cant wait to move in and set it up. Just have to remember Im old, lol.

I agree that quote is telling. Its the players who are always striving to improve their game, whenever they can, who have the best shot of becoming special.

Well said. June 24 would be a great day to send him on a euro scouting trip for 2017.
