Guys that haven't made all star teams getting 18MM per season? We are lucky to get Monroe and a Danny Green and that gets us to a 7/8 seed with zero flexibility to add major talent going forward. Definitely a lockout looming.
At this point I would be patient and focus my attention on picking off talent from team needing to shed salary. I suspect the Bulls will be looking to deal either Taj Gibson or Noah. I think Hawks may look to offload Muscala. Rockets may have to give up Papanikolaou, or some of their PFs. Celtics might need to shed some salary too. Need to pay attention to who is needing cap space to overpay FAs.

I think that's a solid signing for them. He's very good.
He's 30 (which Melo gets blasted for), and it looks like the season before last was an unusually good year- didn't look nearly as good last season. People complain about Calderon, but how is Tragic going to look in 3 or 4 years at $20mil?
Like a bargain?
If you believe Dragic with diminished athleticism at $20mil a year is a bargain, then I can't really argue with you

They gave up two picks and Cole to get him. He fleeced them of future assets when he could have just came as a free agent because he wanted to pick his destination.....

Dragic isn't all that athletic to begin with. I think he'll be able to play to the same level into his mid 30s. He doesn't have as much mileage on him as Melo. in two years, his salary will be less than 20% of the Heat's cap space... he's a 20ppg 8apg PG who shoots well over 50%. I dunno, seems like a bargain to me.

Exactly- we're double screwed- The Magic will Max Milsap, freeing up the Hawks to max out Carroll. So in one fell swoop we lose out on Milsap, Carroll and Splitter

But it could make Harris available if he would take the money the Knicks would offer. It would be tough to tie up 12 mil to wait and see if the Magic max.
Carroll just tweeted he's going to Toronto
Man what did Hawks give up for Splitter....Come on Phil Jackson Get Monroe and Matthews3

Mathews likely going to Mavs- they offered $12mil a year, which is insane for a player coming off an achilles tear. Whats even more crazy is he is holding out for $15mil a year!!!
Crazy how people were complaining about wanting Monroe at 15-16 mil a year. If his max was 20+, he would get it.

I fell asleep in a chair and checked twitter when I woke up. First day of summer break for me so no worries.

Millsap got a80 mil for 4 yr from Magic
Done deal. Execs now operating as if LA is signing with the spurs.
He's going there. You play with Green, Leonard, Parker, Duncan, Manu and through LA into the mix that's just insane.
If you're Deandre Jordan, why stay in the western conference when you have the spurs, warriors, grizzles, NOLA, thunder to tango with. You go to the East and dominate against mediocre teams.

They were headed into a meeting with LMA when they made the trade. This is called confidence. It's what winning teams have and breed.
LMA will be a Spur by 5pm.

I do think the Knicks best chance at this point may actually be DeAndre Jordan. They clearly blew it with Monroe.
