Oof. Luke should try to find a place with a month to month lease, at least until the February deadline.

Pretty funny. Is this any kind of record for being traded without actually playing on the team you are traded to?

Shump getting a TON of love around the League. Sigh. If Timmy was worth a first round pick, what was Shump worth?

Cavs Extend Qualifying Offer to Shumpert; Lakers, Mavs, Bucks Expected to Pursue SG
Tuesday, June 30

Shumpert played a key role for the Cavaliers during their playoff run as he averaged over nine points and nearly five rebounds per game during the postseason, but his future in Cleveland is very much up in the air. While the team announced they had extended him a qualifying offer, meaning they can match any offer that he receives, there are multiple other teams interested in him.

According to ESPN.com's Chris Broussard, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Dallas Mavericks and the Milwaukee Bucks all have interest in signing the 25-year-old guard, although LeBron James loves him as a teammate due to his defensive acumen.

Cleveland has reportedly already taken a step toward retaining Shumpert by extending a qualifying offer to the restricted free agent, per Eric Pincus of Basketball Insiders.

Due to the reported interest in Shumpert from other teams, however, it seems unlikely that he will accept the qualifying offer. Should Shumpert sign an offer sheet with another team, Cleveland will have the opportunity to match it.

That could prove troublesome, though, as the Cavaliers have a long list of free agents to deal with, according to SportsCenter:

LeBron is chief among them, although Broussard is reporting that he will re-sign. Even if that is the case, Cleveland will have to make a sizable offer to forward Kevin Love if it hopes to keep him, too.

Based on the sheer number of free agents the Cavaliers have currently, it seems nearly impossible for them to retain everyone. Since one can only assume that rebounding machine Tristan Thompson will take precedence over Shumpert as far as restricted free agents are concerned, Shumpert could end up being a casualty of the situation.

He'll land on his feet regardless of where he ends up, but the Cavs will undoubtedly miss his tenacious perimeter defense if he signs elsewhere.

OKC reportedly offered the last pick of the first round for Shump. I'm not surprised Shump is getting so much attention. A few good playoff guys is usually all it takes for GMs to lose their minds over a player. Just look at how scrubs like Damon Jones and Keyon Dooling were able to capitalize off of a few nice playoff games. I'm not saying Shump is as bad as those as those two. I'm just certain that he will be overvalued in his next deal.

If they would give up Jones with one of their player dumps I'd give up the 2018 1st.

I think they would trade Kostas Papanikolaou's ($5 mil)- we originally drafted him and had to trade his rights for Felton. He has a nice skill set for the triangle and is cheap

I told you- Morey bizarrely gets booty blinded by big names in free agency- he wanted Melo last year!

So he becomes a rather large blunder for Charlotte at #7 (got him from Sacramento in a 3 team graft night trade trade).

Passed on:

Thompson
Vucecic
Leonard

and more, of course.

I'd love to pick up Biyombo on a cheap deal. At the very least he's a very good defensive player and rebounder and would be the best on the team if we signed him. He's atrocious offensively but he'll only be 23 this season so there's still time to develop some semblance of an offensive game. If he could play offense like DeAndre Jordan that would be a hell of a steal.

crzymdups @ 6/30/2015 4:28 PM
No thanks to Biyombo.
crzymdups @ 6/30/2015 4:42 PM
Spurs players are gonna be in high demand...

edit: also, Wojo must have a good contact in Charlotte. He's breaking a lot of their news lately.

I'd take Biyombo for cheap, like at $4 mil per.

Wojo is the man. At the deadline that guy Shams from realgm was breaking all the scoops. Wojo seems to be back.

Definitely. Very good defensive player and rebounder and I'd hope that he can develop a Tyson Chandler/DeAndre Jordan type offensive game. I'd give 4 years/$24M and I'd probably go higher.

4/$24 mil would probably be the most I'd give him. He's 6'9 which is his major flaw.

Shams Charnia. He is a reporter on realgm that broke a lot of the trades n twitter. Usually Wojo does that. But I remember you saying trades don't happen around the draft so maybe you don't follow that stuff.
