For sure. But for me, who cares what he said, you know that press baits and wants him to say something and he did. I read that as a F U right back to whomever kept pressing him.
This is why I say we need to stop buying into the Media narrative that Phil is a Fraud, Cook, only doing it for the money etc. The NY Media loves nothing more than to tear Phil down. Nothing he does will make them back off until he starts to turn this around, but he hasn't been here long enough to do that. Now is his chance to start to rebuild this thing. I could care less what he says at this point.

Still wants a mature big that can defend but is also versatile and he wants a 2nd rd pick. He mentioned a couple of guys and i'm thinking at #4 he's looking at WCS or Kaminksy unless Philly passes on Russell.
It's more delusional than egotistical...If he sat on his hands and JR opted out like he did, we would have more cap space today...
JR wouldn't of opted out if he was still with the Knicks so there goes that one.
People swore JR wouldn't opt out after the Finals, so there goes that one too..
Really?? Who were those people??
All over this board..They said he was nuts..Only JR would do that..
So did people swear that he wouldn't opt out or just couldn't believe it when he did opt out cause you said both??
Well both..Some speculated he wouldn't opt out and other expressed surprise when he did..
But our debate started when you replied to my post saying people SWORE he wouldn't opt out after the finals.
markvmc wrote:Anyone else think Jackson is actually joking when he said he did a great job? He certainly didn't clean up any mess-- if he had done literally nothing, and made no moves, we'd have more cap room now than after all his moves.
Wouldn't we still have R.Felton and JR Smith's money still on the books which is more than Calderon and Calderon can do more for us than either of those two can??
This is that alternate definition of great that I forgot about.

I think he did a great job on the Prigioni trade. His other moves were highly questionable, at best.

its neither... You know Phil was baited or challenged to say something negative about the year, the record, the roster, etc etc and he essentially said piss off I did a great job. Phil's job will judged this offseason, not on failing to replenish the cubbard with the JR trade.
I myself give him two years but this year will be big to get at least one really good piece and a couple other pieces that will contribute in a good way and then next off season he can put it all together with the extra cap space. Of course i'm expecting to come out of this draft with a good young player at 4 or a good trade down that gets us a veteran and a pick or multiple picks. I'm good with either one of picking at 4 or trading down as long as it's the right move.
You give him 2 years? That means he's got about 8 months left.
No that means he has two years which would be the season coming and the following to build a winning team. Last year was a throw away year to clean the mess he came into up.......which he did.
Please, that mess was going to clean it's self up on it's own..How can GM trade expiring contracts in a throw away season and think he did a good job.
Any and everybody on this Knick board could have done what phil and fisher did last season
