Fate is a cruel mistress. We had the second worst record and got the fourth pick in a three superstar draft. We can still get a player, but I doubt we can get a superstar.

What I want to know is why the hell we aren't trying to trade up! Nominally speaking, it'd only be two spots which can't be that great a leap for us. And more importantly, Phil is boning the team owner! You'd think he'd get a hometown discount or something in the deal.

Other than Phil's bedroom talents and great charm, what exactly do we have to offer the Lakers at this point in time??

He does, because we would be coming to them for something. Not sure love counts in this kind of deal.

Take Muldiay, he could possibly be the 2nd best player in the draft and can help immediately. Winslow was on Francesa today and telling him how difficult Muldiay was to cover given his size, strength and atheleticsm. Kid can create, defend and Wall had a worst outside shot coming into NBA
