Russell will be selected by the Lakers
And
Will later be traded to the Knicks if they are a le to select Okafor
I wonder what Philly does if that happens? I guess they just take OK4 at that point. I don't see this impacting the Knicks at 4. If Phil has settled on Hezonja then they probably stick with that. I think his performances in the playoffs may have pushed him to the top. Hezonja hasn't gotten as much support as others we've argued about but outside of Russell he may be the next best offensive guard in the draft.

Philly will go with Porzingis; they need outside shooting, a big that can stretch the floor for Noel and Embiid.

Well that might really shake things up then. OK4 or Hezonja at #4? I would have to guess Phil goes OK4 tho I don't know how strongly he feels about Hezonja. Heck this all just got real interesting.

highly doubt it, they traded MCW so they could reinvest in a new pg from the draft.

i don't even think that's the case. hinkie isn't a believer in PGs, if you look at his history, he's traded away all of them. i think he's looking to go BPA

Hinkie is looking for franchise changing talent- as I understand his philosphy, you simply need the best players in the league on your roster to win - and that is kinda true. He is going to continue to try to find the best players, even if he has to restart and continuing stinking up the league.

And Russell isn't the BPA?
Why would LA trade Russell to NY? What would we give in return? THjr? LOL
LA can get Cousins OR the highly touted Knick, Jaques Sheet.

There was a rumor out their that he might be willing to trade down for Russell, though.
I've heard or read that agents for guys in the draft are telling Hinkie that they don't want him to take their kids. Same is true for many free agents. Pretty sure Porzingis refused to work out for them.
Doesn't matter, though...from what I heard Curry's people were telling GS not to pick him, and we saw how that worked out.
This might be a reason why top tier FAs and future draft picks don't want to go their:
June 23rd at 8:01pm CST by Eddie Scarito
The NBPA is looking into the Sixers for any possible breach of the league’s collective bargaining agreement, sources told Shams Charania of RealGM. During a meeting on Monday, the union informed agents that it will actively investigate Philadelphia’s salary distributions, use of the cap floor, and contract format loopholes, Charania notes. For the NBPA, the Sixers’ approach over the past several seasons may not be a technical violation of collective bargaining as much as it is one of the spirit of negotiating under the CBA, adds the RealGM scribe.Over the past two seasons, Philly has compiled a 37-127 record, staying below the 90% salary floor for majority of the campaigns before making late season signings or trades to comply with the CBA rules, Charania writes. The Sixers frequently offering players four-year, non-guaranteed contracts has rubbed agents and the NBPA the wrong way, Jake Fischer of LibertyBallers tweets.
I predict the Knicks will draft Frank Kaminsky and I will never forgive Briggs for starting 95 threads about him
Let us all wait and see. A lot of you will be surprised of what will transpire tonight. Porzingis will be picked in the top 4.
I'd trade Melo just to draft Russell, please Phil, make Russell happen!
With the forth pick, I hope we don't select Mudiay. I won't mind this kid if we can move up and select him and another player, but not with the forth pick
broussard has knicks leaning mudiay, 3 hours away

Who knows at this point? I don't even know how anyone can know for sure since Phil hasn't really made it clear which way he's going.
rumors become more true as draft gets closer, most people have this

Based on what we've heard, I kind of think he's trying like crazy to drum up a good trade offer. If he can't they prob go Mudiay or Porzingis?
