Talent >>> System for us when we do not even have the players to execute the system
We have to play to our talents and use a system that fits our strengths and hides weakness's, not draft for the system when we have so much lack of talent to execute the system and limited future assets/young talents
It is possible that the Triangle may fail if we can not get the players needed to execute the system and if the league continues to play more Dantoni and GS small ball, in which it is already a PG league with mainly PnR's, stretch 4's and BIG SF's as PF's, and fast high scoring/fast pace league, we must adapt with the league, unless our players are that much more DOMINANT which it currently is not....
Kerr and Gentry, with their entire coaching staff deserves much credit along with their entire roster/GM and trainers/medical staff
I think Bogut is the most expendable with Festis Ezili and even Ognjen Kuzmic, as LEGIT Centers, along with James McaDooo as a young Jared Jeffries 2.0
Speights and David Lee are also both expendable and with Justin Holiday he is great size/length/versatile skills as well
They have a very young team but will have to pay up if they want to keep that core together to continue a possible dynasty in tough conference
With Bogut, small ball, and these others BIGS, along with pick 30 *they can easily find and develop a solid PF/C* though eventually they will have to choose between talents of needs/luxuries
Curry took a huge pay cut because of his previous injuries and Harrison Barnes is a big part of their defense/philosophy as well, as well as eventually paying
Harrison Barnes as a RFA next season
Justin Holiday, with early bird rights *at one point was their 6th man, and Kerr kept everyone engaged for the most part of 12man roster as he was a role player himself and kept them ALL MOTIVATED despite lack of PT due to injuries/lineups/rotations
Festis Ezili/Ognjen Kuzmic
Barbosa was very important to this years success at the vet min too and The importance of Iggy and Livingston off their bench for their season with little playing time but staying in great shape must be creddited to their professionalism and Kerr keeping them motivated along with David Lee *think he would fit well in the Triangle and MLE type of contract, next season which could raise to about 8m to some team with the rise of the cap
Nemanja Nedovic is suppose to be a Kapono like shooter with more skills as well and Justin Holiday's physical abilities, improved confience and shooting ability/defense, could demand a decent salary for his versatlity
GS could be the making of a new system/affect like Dantoni had on the league and European style of play has changed the philosophy/style of play in the past decade from "traditional 2 BIG's lineups"
With multiple ball handlers/shooters, that could all rebound/defend/hit 3pters/slash and create for others, especially with more and more players with improved shooting/physical abilities and having BIGS have guard skills and PG/SG's with the ability to rebound/defend/even post up like Livingston did *which FATIGUES* out opponents PG's, though it was Delly as the 3rd stringer
They had 5 players at all times, that could all create/rebound/defend for each other and shoot to space
More importantly, they controlled tempo and were able to defend at a high level, forcing double teams and wide open shots/layups
The 3pt shot has changed the game with 4-5 players on many teams that could all space the floor to allow penetrate/ideal match ups
We must evolve with it, if the league continues to do so, I cannot see CA, Monroe, and a Robin Lopez working together if so, as they are all "BIG but pretty slow" taking much room and unable to defend small lineups like GS put up vs Lebron and the Cav's
Yes they loss Love and Irving, however, Love isn't nearly the defender/rebounder that Tristan is with Lebron *Love would spread the floor more and less of an OFF rebounder and not the help defender Tristan is*
But maybe the series would have been different if both Love and Irving were in it though MoSGoV, Tristan Thompson, Delly *for first 3 games*, wouldn't have had the games they had effectively with less minutes
But Lebron would have energy to dominate in 4th quarter if kept close
More importantly Iman and JR Smith would be good 4th/5th and bench options as role players as they are
Point is we should still draft a player that would also have trade value in our future rather than selecting/reaching for a player just to fit a system that we do not have the needed weapons when we need ALL STARS to be legit contenders and still be able to defend/rebound at the same time
