Because if Boston will send a bunch of picks/assets to Phili to take him and Phili loves picks so there you go

Also hearing they may include Marcus Smart in the deal. Also saw somewhere that Ok4 peoples have told Philly not to take Ok4. If Russell goes second, have to hope Philly is in love with Kris P and Ok4 slides to us.

Yeah, there's a chance that Boston and Philly can't agree to a deal in the five minutes Philly is on the clock.
Boston's first offer seemed a bit much.
Have to think the likelihood that Okafor falls is small though.

Lots of agents are saying the same thing to Hinkie.

Carter Williams won rookie of the year and was promptly shipped off for future picks. Philly is not a place to grow.
so what are we hoping for now? 1. Towns, 2. Okafor, 3. Mudiay, 4. Russell??? is that the best case???
that trade sounds like a trade rape that a Boston 10 year old would make and a 7year old Philly can would be smart enough to just hang up the phone and block any future possible trades with that low ball
yeah, the flaw in Hinkie's constant rebuild philosophy is that no lotto pick ever wants to go there. Michael Carter Williams face at the draft last year after Philly drafted Elfrid Payton was classic. They traded Payton later that same night, but I wonder if the damage was done. MCW was traded like 6 months later.

Best case is 1. Porzingis, 2. Kaminsky, 3. Lyles, 4. Towns since our top 3 are gone...

Unless Boston is willing to also part with 6 more TOP draft picks in the future
I mean what would take away the best talent that Philly has, outside of a hurt Embid *unless it is smoke*
Hinkie would surely be canned in this scenario as NO FA would consider going there, so what would an extra 10 picks do when they already have 30 draft picks in the next couple of years to begin with
WHile giving up Noel and OK4 as the by far best players on both rosters, RIGHT NOW and in terms of future potential

Once your top three are the board, best to just go BPA.
Evene worse woj said that LA is taking Okafor and Phily is taking Russell and its a done deal.

That was the most likely scenario all along.
Of all the rumors out there, Wojo is the guy I'll believe.

Hinkie and his methodology seems to have achieved some kind of cult status, though.
At some point he has to get some players he plans to keep for an extended period of time.

Cult status in the analytics world doesn't necesarily mean the players want to play for you.

Read that Hinkie drafted Payton so he could leverage something from Orlando.
Hinkie wanted Porzingis last year, and might have taken him. He ended up trading Payton for Saric, a pretty nice all around big who won't be in the NBA until 16/17.
The problem is that last year he ended up with one injured player, and one overseas player, and he got rid of his ROY.
Talk about boom or bust- as a GM-type that's what he is, and Philly fans are still waiting from some forward progress instead of the water treading he's been doing.
