Knicks · Both mocks now have Porzingis at 4 (page 2)

You cannot go wrong drafting a 7-2 skilled athletic C its the right choice. Its a conservative choice to be honest. Every team needs a C. Whats nice is Porzingis can flex 5-4

out of the lottery selections over the past few years only 3 international players have developed into all stars. dirk, pau and yao.

in other words, euro-sourced all stars have mostly come from later picks where the guys knew they had to be much more hungrier.

To be fair, Tskitishvili getting picked at #5 was absolutely ludicrous even at the time. He didn't play at all basically. He hit 10 threes in a row in a shoot around and everyone fell in love with him. But, very little was examined with him playing against competition. Porzingis plays, at least.

Kristap averaged over 10 a game as a 18 -19 year old in the second best league in the world ... What are ok4 ,Russell, towns going to average their rookie year ...

Okafor and Russell will easily be over 15ppg.

And most scouts/execs rate the Spanish league slightly behind the NCAAs in terms of talent.

mudiay got the knicks vibe though he told people
BRIGGS @ 6/25/2015 6:34 PM
Porzingis is towering over Towns and Okafor 3-4 inches easy.
jbeachboy @ 6/25/2015 6:35 PM
porzingis is like a 3 or 4 year project which is why knicks would pass

Biggest issue with OK4 is his defense.

I've read enough stuff by scouts about his lack of D to almost scare me away from him if he falls in our laps.

Some scary stuff out there about this, although yes, he would be scoring right away.

If you go by measurements it is 4 inches. He is 7'3 in sneakers and he may still be growing.

Hell end up as a 7-3 250 pound skill center. Maybe better than anyone in the draft at the end of the day. We should NOT bypass this opportunity.

% of Americans who were lottery busts? Do the math and get back to me.

Pretty sure we will, Briggs.

I really think Phil will go for the physically more mature player. He has the "Porzingis project" excuse that he can use. Porzingis is the guy you take if you don't resign Anthony.

I know its not smart, but it's the world we live in.

I would take Kaminsky over Mudiay and Winslow at this point if he's looking for NBA ready.

A PG known for getting to the basket who shoots 58% from the FT line is an issue, and his shooting inconsistency has been talked about for a long time. This is his pre-China scouting report on DraftNet. His weakness before China were evident there, too.

Weaknesses: Very streaky shooter … Needs to develop a consistent midrange shot …Takes too long to get shot off … Must become a better free throw shooter … Sometimes too flashy and tries hard to make the big play which leads to turnovers … Occasionally over dribbles … Should become more of a vocal leader ... Needs to stay in a stance on defense and close out low with hands high ...

Overall: Emmanuel Mudiay is arguably the top point guard in the class of 2014 and will almost certainly be a one and done player. Under the tutelage of Larry Brown at SMU his decision making will undoubtedly improve and he will learn how to run a team in the half court. With his size and quickness Mudiay has the potential to be a top 10 pick and with an improved jump shot could become a future NBA All Star ...

Feel better about Winslow, but he actually shot about 25% on his 2pt Js last year, and he also had FT issues. I could live with him, though.

Kaminsky is a compromise- NBA ready with some great fundamentals, and he does many of the things you see from Porzingis.

Probably be Mudiay, though.
